Hi guys I got a MacBook Pro for sale, it is the 15" model, Core Duo 2.0 ghz, 2gb ram, there is no hard disk, the machine boots up but there are diagonal blocks on the screen, you can see the mouse in-between the blocks. The original PSU and install discs are included. Shipping will be from Japan. Price is 65.00 and shipping will depend on your location and type of shipping.

Hi! I maybe interested but first i would like to understand what are these diagonal blocks. Any pics? I suppose you know what the problem is related with, hence the low asking price. I might need the macbook only for basic things, mainly mp3s so no problem here but it has to be functional in any case. I mean, is the screen visible or fully distorted. At least i would like to know if you have looked into it but i suppose (having done a little research on the net) that it is a GFX card failure.

Maybe the model reference, battery condition, visual condition and any further info would help also.

Finally, does the screen look like this:

I'd be second in line.

Hi, the battery life is still good, you get around 2-3 hours of use out of it, the model number is A1150, the problem is related to the GFX card as shown in these photos and the ones that you posted too. It comes with: 2 gb of ram, no hard disk, dvd burner, orginal psu (power supply unit), and the install discs. The keyboard is American. Hope this helps :)

wasn't this screen issue due to a flash update? i'm pretty sure you just reflash to an older one to solve this

Another question after seeing the first photo. What is this stain on the right and left side of the mouse pad. Is it dirt, discoloration or sign of wear due to the case opening/closing?

it could be but i don`t have the time to install a new hd and find out, hence the low price :)

the discoloration i think is from when my wife had put some stickers onto the wrist rest, it is the the glue residue i believe.

i went to the post office with the laptop fully boxed with everything so these are the final prices to pretty much anywhere in europe. it is gonna be pricy though as it weighs almost 4 kg.

EMS (Fastest) - 7,000 (54.00)

Airmail (Fast) - 7,600 (58.00)

SAL (around 2 weeks) - 6,150 (47.00)

Surface (2 months) - 3,450 (26.00)

these are the lowest prices that i could find so who ever wants to buy it i`ll include some light japanese snacks (chocolate or senbe :)

I think i'll take it. i just have to top up my card in order to use Paypal. However this might take 3-4 days cause i'm out of town at the moment. If you can wait until then of course. :)

Receved, but seem to have taken a beating in the mail.

Probably nothing I can't fix when doing the surgery, but wonder if it is anything one can get back from the mail for? (can't recall if it was insured or not)

You could tell a *ahem* white lie and say it was sold to you as a working laptop. That's probably what i'd do but then again i'm a bit of a 'geezah', either way it came to you in a worse condition then before and that's a good enough reason to see what you can get back from them ham-fisted couriers.

I will note that if anything backfires, don't blame me, it's at your own risk. :)

It's normally the responsibility of the sender to initiate a claim against a carrier - not the receiver.

And i suppose it should be insured in the first place otherwise you couldn't claim anything! Anyway, worth giving it a try me thinks. :D

was it insured? And if not, do this postal service you used have some liability up to some $$$ if not? Never have had to file a claim before, so I'm pretty clueless. Just got a bit bummed out since aluminium isn't the easiest metal to bend back to shape.
