Ladies and Gentlemen,
In effort to continue improving various aspects of the forum there has been some ongoing discussion about revising the rules regarding Traders on the site.

It was felt that sometimes the rules for a Trader were a little too rigid to fit some members who want accounts on here. On the other hand, some members' activities were so close to the activities of a Commercial enterprise as to warrant a separate account that identifies them to everyone and gives them the freedom and flexibility to trade effectively that might not otherwise be as easy with a standard account.

It was decided by the staff, that the easiest way to implement this would be to introduce a new Account profile.

Private Trader
A Private re-seller who may hold stock of items selling small to medium volumes of items, available from private, possibly undisclosed sources. It must not be their primary source of income. They do not automatically have their own area on the site, but can ask for one if they wish. They can buy only for personal use. They can sell without restrictions. Access to the recycle bin can be granted on request for personal use only.
The existing "Trader" account still remains. The name, however, has changed to "Commercial Vendor" so as to minimise confusion between the two types of accounts. Nothing has changed with this type of account.

Commercial Vendor
Verified and Trusted Commercial members: Commercial Traders cannot buy goods on AmiBay or use the Recycle Bin. They automatically have their own area on the site.

We invite all members, whether a standard member or an existing Trader, to examine the new types of account and decide whether or not the accounts are relevant for their intended type of trading activity.

All existing Traders will automatically be changed to Commercial Vendor

We may offer the status of Commercial Vendor or Private Trader to members who we feel may benefit from the extra flexibility allowed.

New members will be asked to review the types of account on sign up and select one that they feel is appropriate.

The changes have been integrated into the rules HERE (http://www.amibay.com/misc.php?do=cfrules) for you all to look at if you wish.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact a member of the staff, or post in the thread HERE (http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?p=132367#post132367) setup for your comments.
