Ok I promised to show people a bit of what I collected and how it all got started.
This is what actually triggered the whole thing.
Late 2009 I was on Google doing a few searches for some CF cards and in a blind spot I found this CF adapter.
That brought me to the website: http://www.vesalia.de/

Since 1996 I hadn't used my Amiga's anymore, which were 2 A500's.
I started them up and to my surprise they were still working :D

Then I started reading up on lot's of stuff including WHDLoad.
That led to the first A1200 in 2010, just for fun I thought.
Bought it locally from a guy in the city of Dordrecht here in the Netherlands.

WHDload also requierd a turbo card.
Lucky for me there was a Blizzard 1230 IV with 16MB on Ebay.
Digging trough old PC stuff I found a 64MB simm, nice.
Though not registered, I had fun with it.

My father also wanted one to play Frontier again.
Can be arranged, so I hit on the local version of Ebay, which is Marktplaats.nl

I came into contact with Mad_Cat_jr (http://www.amibay.com/member.php?u=1608) who sold me an A1200 with an Mtec 030 @ 28Mhz and 8MB and 128MB CF.
Told me a lot of things, gave me a lot of tips and so I also became a member on Amigascene.nl

Then it got it in the Fastlane, really :D
My first A4000 was coming up from Marktplaats, I was really lucky with this one, but I just had to have it (photos later).
But the case was in bad shape, pretty yellow and scratches on it.
On the inside it was a joy to see, the battery was removed and had little damage, but that made me smile and I bought it.

A few weeks later I was on the Belgium version and found another A4000, but as a Micronik tower.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=428

Of course I had to have it, so off I went, it was just over an hour of a drive, so not that much.
Having spoken with the owner, he told me it belonged to his father.
He also told me that this had been for sale for almost a year!
I said to him with the price he asked that he should have sold it after a week, but it just didn't happen.

Well, lucky for me then and after a bit of testing, I paid for it.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=429

After I got home I could see what his father had done, clearly he had been doing design work for the big supermarket company GB, now Carrefour.
I remember this from the time my grandparents lived in Geel, Belgium.
These markets were big, huge, compared to the ones in the Netherlands.

That's why it also had Scala MM, GVP Image FX and lots of digitizer stuff.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=430

Yeah it's a full 040 @ 25Mhz.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=431

Nice to see the revision D board.

Over the summer in 2010 I would collect lots of more Amiga's, including a few 600's and 1200's and also this:

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=432

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=433

An undamaged A500 Plus, thanks to Odo / Amigascene.nl
Shortly after I removed the battery and it's just as clean as the rest of the board, I was really happy with that one.

The summer got even better, I could pick up an A4000 and lots of goodies for free!
This was thanks to Krush / Amigascene.nl
But in the end I donated what I wanted to pay for it for his little one.

This was/is the state of the board.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=434

I learned, more and more.
Upgrading became childsplay.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=435

But the summer would end even better, about then I would hit the motherload!

I paid a pretty penny for this, but it was all worth it.
I will shut up for now and just show a bunch of photos.

Cool ha ?
And I haven't even included photos of the floppy's, scsi cables and books.
But a lot wasn't working when I bought it.
The 600 and 1200 look to be dead and the SX32 wasn't doing well either, the 4.3 A2000 was working but the 6.2 wasn't.
Both CD32's were ok.

I didn't take long for the A600, replaced the kickstart with 2.05 and it started right away.
After looking closely at the SX32 I discovered that the card wasn't pressed in thight in the connector itself on the back of the SX 32, that brown one.
A little push and reseat of the memory brought it back to life.

The A2000 4.3, was a bit buggy, but I left that for what it was.
Couldn't figure out why that 6.2 wasn't running.

Ok, lets have a looksy at these A500's.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=448
That's a classic example of how a battery should not look!

I've got 3 A500's in this crate, lets see if these babes will start.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=449
This one does.
Let's try the Action Replay MK III, cause I had so much fun with my MKI.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=450
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=451

Yep, all systems go.
Lucky for me my parents were on vacation, because if they would have seen all this, they would have freaked out by the sight of all this junk in their eyes.

After almost 3 days non stop fixing and testing with the A2000's I decided to give it a rest and focus on the A1200.
The seller told me he couldn't get it working and also had to find a matching floppy drive.

Well, first a little clean up.
Before and ready to clean.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=452

Nasty mark.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=453

Yeah, this is light sanding, but it does the trick.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=454

Lets have a look outside in the sun, while it's 32c degrees.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=455

Remember that nasty mark, what mark ?
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=456

Let's pop the hood.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=457

New kickstart 3.1 and floppy drive out of one of the boxes.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=458

Fire it up!
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=459

The engine is running!
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=460

Just before going back to work again after 4 weeks off, I gave the SX32 Classic WB 3.1.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=461

Let's see if it works ....
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=462

And as summer was coming to end and fall had begun, it got even better :D

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=463

The holy grail!
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=464

Thanks to Moushouse / Amigascene.nl

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=466
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=467

Now to set it up.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=469
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=470

On that Commodore GG day Tahoe (http://www.amibay.com/member.php?u=899) our Collector Extrodinaire would also sell me this;
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=471

I completely forgot about the Amiga 1000 I had bought in the summer, and took a peek to see if this really had 2MB as the seller claimed.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=472
Guess it does.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=473
No, the diskdrive isn't M.I.A. but is being cleaned.

As 2010 is nearing the end, Oktober and November and December, would get better and better.
And how in the world is that possible after all you already have gotten this year ?!

Yeah you would say you couldn't top this anymore, wrong!
I'll show you why.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=474

This little beastie came thanks to McVenco (http://www.amibay.com/member.php?u=254) after also getting a GVP Combo 030 with 12MB.

On Amigascene, Quasar would sell me this allong with 3 A500's, 2 of them Plus versions.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=475
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=476

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=477
Yeah that is a 9.1GB 10K Quantum Atlas from cv643d (http://www.amibay.com/member.php?u=660) who also supllied me a Cybervision PPC, thus making my PPC setup complete now.
The other drive is a 36GB IBM, but it makes weird noises, so only use that for testing.

Then 2010 is almost at it's end, it's 18 December, the last Commodore GG day just before Christmas.
It would be a very good Christmas for me.

Look what Amiga-Digital (http://www.amibay.com/member.php?u=454) sold me;
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=478

Yeah, the one and only Blizzard 2060.
http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=479

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=480
The famous mask is also on it.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=481

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=482

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=483

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=484

That puts a smile on your face.

http://www.amibay.com/picture.php?albumid=59&pictureid=485

Yeah, the standard A4000 is a bit behind compared to this.

And now we are here in 2011.
Will that be better ?

So far, so good.
I've laid my hands on 2 ACA1230/56 and 1 ACA630/25.
But I had some bad luck too, my pristine A600HD fell from high above nosedive in a open A2000 and set me back quite some money for a new one, but I just found it.

Is it ever going to stop you ask ?!
Probably not, but as I'm having enough now, only things like an A3000 and A4000T can only still intrest me.

For now it's time to set these machines up and play with them.
Most of them are done, and I also have a registered key for WHDLoad.
This year is going to be great if I can keep my job.

Oh, I haven't even begun here :D
Just wait untill I have all my systems on photo with their config's.

And I'm forgetting so many people here.

Fritssteve for that A600HD that took that nosedive from above.
Jon hare for another A600.
Tom Thul for all the RAM/IDE boards and the great service and support!
PrymerOne for a load of 2.1GB IBM SCSI hd's which are now powering a lot of A2000's.
Thanks to all for advice, like Andylandy, Zetro and all others :readit:

I think really the guys @ Amigascene.nl are the ones responsible for this :D
Without them, I wouldn't be as far as I am today.

@BuzzFuzz

This is an epic thread, and WOW what a comeback!!!

From very humble endings of 1995 to some of the highest powered Amiga's ever created within a one year 15 years later!

And I know I shouldn't covert another mans Blizzard 2060 - but that is one pretty card!

congrats on your ever growing collection - truly a labour of love

Remember now, a lot of us have to live vicariously - so take pictures =D

Yeah it's been amazing, and I can do this cause I still live at my parents house even though I just passed on to 34 years.

Yeah I know, I should have been kicked out already or took my pride and got a nice crib myself.
But you know I see people going down flat on their faces all bankrupt and kicked out of their houses :wooha:
And that is what is holding me back.
I'm single, I'm enjoying my life, my parents aren't that anoying and we get allong, though I'm more in my own room than the living, so why would I risk it all ?
Maybe I can even take over this house.

Back to the Amiga's, if someone had told me in 1990 I would own all these Amiga's with these kind of monster cards, I would have asked what he or she had been smoking or taking :D
Not even in my wildest dreams then would I have accomplished what I have today, but I did.

But for all you who think; I can do this too.
Well you better have a big sack of money in your house, a lot of time and patience and lots of knowledge on Amiga's.
And I haven't even begun on how hard it is when you have a girlfriend/wife or boyfriend/husband ;)

Well I can tell you that already, 1 of 3 ACA's is here.
On top of that I just found a replacment A600HD, coming my way soon.
That will have the 630/25 once Amigakit delivers it here.

But I just have to take it down a notch, cause this drains money ;)

Well, if you are using the 040 for games, forget it, you better off with a GVP Combo 030 or the 2060.
Anyone will tell you WHDLoad does best on a 030, then a 060 and then a 040.
The 020's just lack too much speed and most of the time memory.

That's going to be heck of task with almost 30 of them :D
But my 1200's get regular work, the ones that have been silent most of the time are the 500's and 600's.

And I need to finish that black A4000 and run the other desktops.
That nice white one just to right of me has been idle for over 4 months :wooha:

I can say exactly the same about the 4000 sitting next to me... The 3000, 1000, CDTV and 500+ get a lot more use. And WinUAE. And PUAE.

And, thinking about it, the 2000 has been away for over a year now :(...

Well right now I have my focus on the A600's, but as Juv said, they are a curse.
Falling out of a closet, blowing CF adapaters, I haven't had much luck with these :wooha:

What an incredible collection!!! :wooha::wooha::bowdown::bowdown:

I am doing the same, by building my dream A600 which I wanted as a child but could never afford in a million years, at the tender age of 32!!:D

So far for my A600 I have got:-

ACA630@25
Indivision
2gig CF + CF adapter
1meg A603

Still on my shopping list is
- Subway USB adapter
- *hopefully* an adapter to relocate my Indivision so I can keep my floppy drive
- Oh, and some time actually build the thing

Enjoy now mate, well done

It is a great scene isn't it? so many talented people involved :) We are so lucky we can buy brand new accelerators, software and so forth so long after these machine were current technology:D

It feels very exciting like, ironically, dabbling with PCs used to feel in my late teens...

Who wants to grow up ah? Hopefully I'll always have the mental age of about a 23 year old :D
