Hi folks,

Been meaning to do this for ages so here goes.

1 x BBC Model B - Works perfectly - 25 - **SOLD to Gazcbm**
1 x BBC Model B - Stencilled writing on it and comes up with "!" marks on boot (This is a RAM problem therefore price reflects this. Apparently an easy fix...) - 10
1x BBC Master. This one boots up fine but shows "Acorn MOS - this is not a language" on the screen. This is a battery issue. 30
1 Twin (side by side) Cumana Disk Drive - 35
1 Twin "generic" (stacked) disk drive which looks a bit damaged and has a broken disk lock - 10
1 Single Akhter BBC single floppy drive (powered by the output on the underside of the computer) - 15
1 BBC Tape Deck - 10
1 CUB 1431 RGB monitor - 30

Willing to accept offers for a job lot as long as pick-up can be arranged.

Condition of everything varies from just needing a clean to the drive with the broken lock. Hopefully the pictures give you an indication of how things are.

Everything powers up fine and the CUB monitor picture looks great. I don't have any BBC disks to test the drives out but they certainly power up at least.

Some things are quite heavy as you can imagine (Cub monitor for instance) and some of the double disk drives are very heavy also so please bear that in mind for postage quotes when registering interest.

Happy to have any of this picked up.

Any questions - drop me a note please.

Hopefully you will be able to see from the photo's and the description above which item is which.

All prices exclude postage and paypal fees to be paid by buyer please.

Cheers

John

Hi.
Could you please tell me if the Akhter BBC single floppy drive is 5.25 or 3.5".
I would be interested in buying it. Would you calculate postage for me.
Thanks

Skilgannon
12th April 2011, 20:16
Hi Gazstone - it's 5.25" - do you still want me to calculate postage?

John

gazstone

Actually, it is a 3.5" one that I am after really.
Thanks anyway.
I don't suppose you may know where I could source one?
Thanks,
Gareth

Hi Gazstone, if you mean games / apps etc then here and eBay I guess but if you're just after general floppy discs then I'll chuck in a pile for you that should be treated as blank (because they're old and I don't know what's on them if anything).

I'll get a postage price tomorrow as it's in the loft.

Cheers

Hey, sorry to be a pain.
Does the Akhter drive have it's own power supply.
Just to explain, I plan to use it with an Acorn Electron. I was going to get a 3.5"
because I had concerns about sourcing the disks, but if you would include some 5.25" then that would be great.
Also, I need to find a disk interface to use with it. I don't suppose you know where I may find one?

Thanks for your help,
Gareth

Hiya Gareth, I don't think this is for you mate. It does have it's own Power Supply which is powered from a slot under the BBC micro. Unless the Electron has this you're scuppered. Also don't know of a disk interphase for the Electron but you might get some guidance from the BBC guru's on here from your other post.

Mods - could you close this thread please - I really can't be bothered trying to sell this old BBC stuff any more and I've boxed it all away again.

Cheers
