Thanks for at least editing your previous listings & re-considering the rules by now quoting prices.

Good luck though, at those prices, I seriously think you're going to need it!

Just a quick note to any AmiBay member wishing to take up any of BastiBS' offers.

Can you please state your interest in the item(s) in the thread before going to Private Messaging; just remember that other members aren't psychic and can't see PMs to work out who has bid for what. Going directly to PM without declaring your interest is a form of silent bidding and is a no-no on this site.

@ BastiBS

If you get a PM from a member without a declared interest in this thread, you are within your rights under the site rules to ignore it. In fact, that is exactly what I would suggest that you do, otherwise it could become chaotic.

Thanks all.

@BastiBS
aha, now I see what you thought about my offer.. guess that deleted PM was full of 'kind words'..

interestingly in a well-known Amiga forum in Germany, your prices are much lower..

@ BastiBS

Considering all the event's leading up to now, why am I not surprised to be hearing this?

Orange's post above is rather disturbing News to hear & I demand an Explanation please.

BastiBS has explained the situation via PM to myself & the thread is open again. This stop/start/stop thing is the last time. Any more dis-chord on this thread & it's closed permanently & the Author's AmiBay Status will be revoked. This might sound harsh but here's the Science based on the tone & content of said PM!

You have to appreciate this BastiBS:

Threads like yours cause this kind of crap to happen. I'm saying this publicly in a vain effort to ram home some of these issues to those who are not aware or don't give a damn & think only of their own pockets. As moderators, one of our jobs is to make sure our members are not taken advantage of. Imho, your prices are a little on the "Gross" side to say the least & I shudder to think if you would really sell much of your software on AmiBay @ the prices you are listing. This could lead to further problems with prospective AmiBay members becoming frustrated at the negative PM's after offering what they consider a decent offer. Your overly High pricing will naturally cause a lot of offers via PM & this really is a Big "No-No" on AmiBay.

These are just some of the issues we want to avoid on AmiBay & you have done your best so far to manipulate AmiBay's simple rules to your own needs. There will be no post deleting on here as you request, we are not ashamed of our conduct & if you feel it detracts from your advert, that's tough luck pal. We have been as accommodating as possible to make you welcome & help you construct an advert within AmiBay's rules & guidelines. Your prices however are miles off what would be considered sensible targets for most Amiga users.

One more instance & it's Game Over. :|

Best of Luck,

Kin

@ BastiBS

I have to agree with Kin Hell about this matter; whilst you may feel that your prices are justified and reasonable, there are others who may see this as a form of price driving. That being said, I would not expect a rash of offers for your games at these prices, unless they are genuinely sought after titles and the real enthusiasts already know which these are, e.g. Moonstone, hence some of the silly prices being asked and paid elsewhere.

I think some general comments are in order here.

Amibay is nothing like an auction site, and this is intentional; it's a fine balance between a safe trading haven and a forum, which is to an extent unique. This balance allows members to feed back directly into the site with remarks both negative and positive. It's also pretty apparent that we police this site a lot more vigorously than other trading sites we could mention. We don't apologise at all for this, as it is our vigilance that makes the site a safe place to trade. It also means that bad news travels pretty darn quickly on the site and reputations (good and bad) can be made or broken in a very short space of time.

The AmiBay team spent a lot of time creating rules to protect both vendor and buyer on this site and we feel that the rules are simple enough for most members to follow. What the staff on here don't appreciate is the constant "pushing the envelope" by members who may want to take the site in a direction that we don't wish it to go down. Testing the system usually ends up with a member being on the losing end of a verbal conflict with an AmiMod, or a Mega AmiMod if things escalate too far. Most of the negative remarks made elsewhere about our site have been made by ex-members who were on the losing side of these types of verbal engagements following a rules infraction. Frankly, we don't really care about negative comments made elsewhere about the site; we are still here and are growing daily, the site stands on it's own merit and we are all proud of it......

The site staff are all trusted members of the Amiga community who know and respect the heritage of the Commodore machines and all understand the history as most of us were there in the late 80s/early 90s when the Amiga originally emerged. This means that we have a collective bank of hardware and software knowledge that spans most of the Amiga models. It also means that we didn't come down in the last shower of rain when it comes to pricing of hardware and software.

It states clearly in the site rules...

"If you are looking to sell your item(s) at inflated market prices then this site is not for you and you should try the established auction sites."

Now, I think that's cleared the air and we should all know where we stand....

Yes, you're right.

As i said i find my prices fair because there are a lot of rare or desired games.
Many titles are in excellent condition, so often it's also the state which raises or determined my price presentation.
Certainly one can make some cheaper, other maybe also higher. For this reason everybody can make an offer.
Moreover, i have sold few games already. Generally, there are many amiga games, not just 5, 10 or 20 euros are worth.

I think there is no formula for the calculation of the exact value.

Today i added cheaper games again.

And now i hope for many well contacts! 8)

Besides, healthy new 2009! :)

@ BastiBS

I trust that with the recent events that unfolded on another site, we aren't about to witness any similar unpleasantness on AmiBay about any of the offers above, are we?

@ Chain

Careful, flaming and trolling isn't tolerated on here; as far as I am aware, it's not been proven that the game under discussion is fake. The main discussion is around the box and label and the omission in the auction about the label being a possible copy. This occurred on another site and it doesn't have to spill over onto AmiBay, OK?

@ All

Any more of this flaming or trolling and a warning will follow, that applies to any trolls or flamers thinking about adding to this thread.

No, of course all games are original. I would never sell copies!

Yes, there was an exception with a photocopied cover, but hope this problem is cleared now.

Sorry for misunderstandings.

No problem; I am glad that we were able to clarify the status of the software on offer in a reasonable manner.

@ All

....But ANYONE interested in making BastiBS an offer, should post on the thread FIRST stating the Title/s they are interested in. Please don't make offers on the Thread; - Do it via PM.

This is purely to stop Silent Bidding.

Thanks everyone. :D
