I am looking for the MPEG version of Return to Zork for DOS or Windows.

This is NOT the standard version - there was a special version released for the Reelmagic (aka Realmagic) MPEG decoder card which was made by Sigma Designs. Unlike the static actors with moving lips in the original DOS version, the version I'm after has full-motion MPEG movies for every actor's line of dialogue in the game.

I already have the big-box standard DOS version (which I was given for christmas nearly 20 years ago and have kept it since). So please don't confuse the two.

This is very rare so I am willing to negotiate a price. ANY condition considered! I don't care about box/manuals, as long as the game works!

Wow, I remember this!

I can remember looking in ore at it in the special reserve catalogue I used to have here in the uk.

Good luck seeking this one out :)

Well I looked through my pile and I have the mac MPEG version. Yikes! Just as scarce!

aww balls... my 2 boxed versions are both the "normal" versions. :(

would you happen to have a picture of the box, in case its different somehow?

No, I don't unfortunately. Couldn't find one on google either.
I suspect since it was bundled with the ReelMagic MPEG cards it may not have had a seperate box. Or if it did its very rare.

Will you consider selling it? I might buy it even though its not for PC.

I have located this game on ebay and managed to get it working with a ReelMagic ISA card in a 386. :)

I am now looking for any other ReelMagic MPEG games. These are not the standard versions of the games, they are specifically written for the ReelMagic cards. The Return to Zork copy I have didn't come in a box, it was only in a jewel case, but it had a ReelMagic logo on the front.

Some games that were written for ReelMagic cards include:
(from Wikipedia)

Under a Killing Moon - Access Software
Gabriel Knight
Escape from Cybercity
Kings Quest VI - Sierra Online
Dragon's Lair
Police Quest IV - Sierra Online
The Lord of the Rings - Interplay

(from reelmagic FAQ)

Police Quest 4
Man Enough
Dragon's Lair
Video Cube-Space
SoundTrack
Space Ace
The Lord of the Rings

I have also heard that the games 'The 7th Guest' and 'The 11th Hour' were available in ReelMagic versions but have been unable to confirm.

I am willing to buy the reelmagic versions of any of the above games :)

Perhaps an admin could kindly edit the thread title to reflect this? cheers :)

I hope you find the mpeg version of "Under a Killing Moon" someday.. (y)

One of the best games ever and truly deserving of an mpeg makeover.
