I`ll be coming to the UK in about 3 weeks time, and a number of you expressed some interest in certain items from Japan, I thought I would make a proper thread here so that people can state what items they are after, this can continue even after I am back from the UK. If you are after a PC Engine, Neo Geo, Super Famicom, Mega Drive, PS, PS2, PS3, Saturn or any other Japanese goodies please let me know what you are after. I can`t promise the cheapest deals but I will do my best to find the best prices I can find, in the mean time I will post some items that I can get hold of and the prices if people are interested.
-------------------------------------

OK have found a few items for people:

Sega Mega Jet (with manuals, box, cables) item might have a few marks or scratches - current price is ¥15,000 / £125.00
Sega Mega Jet (no manuals, no box, no cables) good condition - ¥7,900 / £64.00
Sega Mega Jet (box with manuals and cables) good condition - ¥13,000 /£105.00

Sharp X68000 (just the twin tower, no keyboard or mouse and just one sample disc) price is ¥37,000 / £299.00

Please be aware that a lot of sellers in Japan are now aware how popular retro Japanese computers are abroad and a lot of them have started to artificially hike the price, I remember when I first came here you could buy PC Engine, Sega Saturn, Super Famicom, MSX complete sets for around £5.00 - 10.00 but now with the yen increasing in value it has become much harder to find cheaper prices, however I will update these prices as and when I find cheaper ones.

@All

This thread has been discussed within the staff area and we feel that this is a specialised thread and as such we are willing to allow this thread to continue but would like to attach the following conditions to it :-

1. Anyone who wants something must post in the thread exactly what they are looking for.
2. Timo must reply stating whether he can get that item, and how much it is for.
3. The buyer must agree in the thread to go ahead with that deal.
4. Timo should update the first post to reflect what deals he is completing.
5. Payment arrangements to be carried out via PM.

The other point we feel that we should make you aware of is that there may be custom charges and delivery charges within the UK if you can't collect the item.

Thanks, Dave G

IDK what prices they command but I could kill for an X68000 Sharp computer.

Are they popular where you are at all?

I would be interested in a Sega mega jet if you can get hold of one

Thanks for posting your requests, it's 2 am here so I will get some sleep but tomorrow I will have a look at the availability and prices of the items and post an update.

Look forward to seeing what you can find. :)

I too would also be interested in a Mega Jet at the right price. (y)

I found a few Mega Jets for people, originally a bit high but found some decent prices after adding shipping and all.

I would be interested in CD Drive for the TurboGFX 16?

I will have a look for you Zetro, been coming a cross a few recently but they have not been working but I will keep an eye out for you.

Can you get hold of an xrgb3 with English firmware? Or the newer xrgb mini?

Not computer related but do you ever come accross any Japanese Vintage Star Wars stuff? They were made by Takara in the late 70's and 80's

Yes I collect action figures and video games, im a geek! :p

We all do mate so you are among fellow Geeks here! I've also collected Star Wars stuff for many years but have never really looked at the Japanese stuff.

I never realised there was other Star Wars collectors here, I should have known better though - Video games usally come with action figures :D

Ive kind of completed my loose collection now so am looking for some of the scarce Japanese and Mexican variants. I tried collecting a set of 12 back carded figures but only got as far as C3P0 until I realised it was going to cost me about £4,000 :(

Im just waiting for the loft find full of untouched carded figures... I remember when Toy and Hobby closed down and my mum came home with black bags full of figures she bought for 10p each - If only we had kept them along with everything else me and brother had.

Anyway the Japanese variants, they were released by Takara and Popy and theres some interesting ones out there. Darth Vader with a different sculptered head for example. Hes rare and demands a high price but you never know what you might find if your out there looking in the wild. Im pretty sure any carded / boxed figures are quite valuable. The same goes for the Mexican stuff too.

I seem to remember there being some Star Wars stuff in my local Hard Off, I think one was a huge Millenium Falcon and more, I will have a look for you :)

I will have a look guys for the CD-Roms, if I don`t find any before I come to the UK, do you still want me to look? I only ask as they are quite rare even in Japan and expensive and it might take a while to find them for a low price.

Whatever you can do is appreciated buddy, but don't bust your hump looking for them. :)
