Hi guys

This might sound really anal but as a lefty I just can't live with the mouse port being on the right hand side of my a600.

Can I just salvage a nine pin male serial port from anything really and mount it on the left side of my case and then just piggyback on to the existing pins of the original port and run these across to my newly located serial port

Makes sense ?????.

Thanks for taking the time to read this :)

hi im a lefty but can use on either side due to using pc all day/night

get a set of these and use some ribbon cable

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-DB9-9-Pin-D-Sub-Male-Female-Solder-Connector-Plug-/290549184110?pt=UK_Computing_Parallel_Serial_PS_2&hash=item43a614b66e

then plug female into mouse port the cable is thin enough to go through case and mount the male on other side

Or use an extension cable if the mouse's cable isn't long enough for convenient left-handed placement?

My mouse cable is plenty long enough I just don't like trailing it either in front or behind my Amiga

I want to route the cabling internally and position a port flushed in on the left

Thank you for your input both.

And many thanks for the link:)

Ah, I see. You could also consider getting rid of the modulator and using the empty position to mount a DB9 connector (it's rear-left rather than strictly left, but might provide for better aesthetics).

@wangerman69

If you want a piece of ribbon cable to do as John suggests drop me a PM.

I've got a roll here and don't mind chopping a bit off for you.

Surely it would be easier if you lefties just chopped your hands off, swap them over and superglue the results... well you might need some help chopping the 2nd one off... hmmmm doesnt really work does it... OK solder those points! :lol:
