This weekend I accidentally replaced the Agnus 318069-03 in my A3000 with the 318069-02 version.

Thankfully I did not break anything. Workbench just reported 512KB chip memory.

So it works :)
I have to fix an A3000 mainboard, my question is if a 318069-03 works in A2000 or A500.

On A2000 rev6: hell yes!

There is a guide floating around in the interwebz telling how to put 2Mb chip RAM into the 2000.

There is a few modifications, and the requirements includes an Agnus 8372AB.

What's the exact model of Fat Agnus? 8372, 8372AB, 8372R3, 8372A ?

Hi Rogerio, can you post exact link?

If you intend this http://www.mylinuxisp.com/~jdbaker/oldsite/documents/2MBAgnushack_v1.4.txt
page doesn't exist anymore :(

However, I don't know if my 8372AB works so I have used an A2000 rev6.x to test. I have put in 8372AB and Amiga boot normally but without any video output, only a black screen. I don't know if this is normal without mainboard modifications to accomodate this Agnus version.

Slight correction.

318069-029 = 8372A
318069-02 = 8372

These are both just 1MB Agnus for PAL machines.

For 2MB Chip in A500/A2000 (NTSC) you need one of the following:

318069-03 (this one is confusing. It needs to be labelled 8372B because there are versions that are labelled 8372AB and are for A3000)
318069-11 (8375)
390544-02 (8375)

For PAL its different Part#s.

-02 is 8372A
-03 is 8372AB
