I have got a cable that is 23pin on one side and 15pin on the other, will it work for you?

Is it 23pin female to 15pin female?

I've only ever seen them like this before...

yes, it's 23pin->15pin like the pictured one and it is used for connecting the amiga to monitors that support 15khz rates... I assume you have such a monitor, right? else it won't make the amiga output a VGA compatible signal...
