I'm looking for a copper cooler (or aluminium with a copper base) for a 1.4GHz Tualatin Celeron CPU. It needs to have a relatively low profile at less than 60mm in height and must be compatible with socket 370 (quite a few AMD socket A coolers will also fit). I had a look on the other bay and all the decent low profile copper coolers are in the US :(.

Pleae let me know if you have anything that might be suitable :).

Cheers

would one of these be too big? http://www.anandtech.com/show/825/16 or noisey. :D

Definitely too big! I think that one is around 80mm in height (i need one to be around 50mm or lower). Something like this would be ideal:

50mm :picard me thinking thats massive but its only 5cm, I might have something that will fit but I dought it be copper, so what are you constraints, 5cm hight is there and caps in the way. If I rember the sprung steel latches on either side of the cpu socket. I`ll try an take some pics of what I have

FYI I used a heatsink almost like that on my p3/1.4 tualatin... the fan was TOO noisy and I replaced it with a 60x60x20mm one... it cooled the system just fine (y)

It's for a Powerleap iP3/T adapter and there are a couple of caps on each side, so it can't be a wide cooler. I think copper would be best as it's going to be a low profile cooler. It's currently using a chunky Igloo 2310 cooler and it's blocking one of the RAM slots... The Igloo cooler clips are also way too tight and might break the plastic tabs on the socket at some point!

Something like that would be perfect! I just need to find one in the UK at a sensible price.

These older socket CPU's run hotter then todays, a cooler like that will be nowhere near sufficiant to cool the CPU unless the fan is at some serious speed (alot of noise!).

still hunting, havent found anything thats quite up to the job yet, close but just not close enough

im wondering if an xbox GPU heat sink would work for you. but they dont have a copper base. i will have to measure one. the 1.0's would be way to small. but the later revisions may be within your height limits but i will have to check. the latch for holding it in place probably would not fit though so unless you have one then its probably no use.

Vantec also makes the CCK-6012, but I can't help you on the UK part. They do have resalers in the Netherlands and France, some of them online.

Wpwzers U still not surted this out yet .... hehehehhe.... and I still not rebuilt my A4000 ---- hehehhee

Do U want me look into what I have and see what I can come up with, should be able do something with the bits I have here

Wow this is an old thread! I forgot to update it after i found another powerleap copper heatsink with fan. I don't even have this system anymore haha
