Hello,

i have made some Voltage regulators for the Apollo card, to power the 68060.
It is self made and has two particularity:

with different resistor values, this adapter can supply from 3.3volt up to 3.9volt (to make possible the overclock of the cpu);

it is possible to power this adapter from a molex plug or directly from the Apollo;

I ask 11 Eur (adapter and a set of resistors to obtain three different voltage values) + postage.

I dont have the Apollo card but i think that all is OK!

I already have a working A4060 but I acquired an A4040 a few years back and well, if I get this little board plus a mach chip all I need to an 060 chip see?

a slow burn project yes with no urgency

i have forgotten: it is for the A1200 version of the Apollo card. I dont know the card for the A3000/A4000.

ok! but i can guarantee that it work in other model of the card, why this kit has a non regular form factor and i dont know if it pass in other models of the card.

dont worry it will fit all cards.and not get in the way of anything important.

Linear regulator and no heatsink whatsoever doesn't seem like the best idea...

But I guess that depends on how much current the accelerator needs?

Edit: it seems its what the original voltage regulator module used anyway... all good!

mine arrived safely a while back but I won't be able to test until I get the rom for the 060 upgrade. Nice build quality and looks like it won't be in the way of anything in my desktop 1200.

your question is right! But, this regulator has a wide range about the voltage and a conversion from 5v to 3.3v give not much heat. Only the CPU is feeded with 3.3v, the card is feeded from the motherboard.

Good question as I'd like to know too? I'm keeping mine at 3.3v and that's how it's been shipped.

i have made a different solution (to be honest, a jumper solution was not in my mind): you need to desolder a couple of resistor and solder other one. There is a page of instruction sent with the card, that explain all the possible combinations. All the resistors needed are in the package.

Unfortunately, i won't be able to solder/desolder myself anything, so i'm not interested anymore, sorry.
If you can make a revision with jumpers to select voltage, i would certainly buy one or two.

i have tested many times this add-on and there is no problem. The only issue can be the needed of ampere to power the 68060: i have not tested it.
In theory, the ampere are enough.

If the 68060 is socketed, detach it from the card and test the voltage between VSS and VDD (ground and 3.3 volt).

Hello,

the part is ready and tested only attached to a common psu. It will be shipped with a set of resistor to obtain the three value of 3.3 - 3.6 and 3.9 volt (this last values are needed if you wish a 060 overclocked!).

Hello,

someone as asked if this part is still for sale, so i have built one and another unit can be for sale if there is a request (and then forget the post above).
I have added onto the PCB a jumper. That mean:

jumper on, the regulator is powered directly from the board
jumper off, the regulator will be powered by the power connector (small molex)
jumper on + power connector, all ok, more current to the board, but the source need to be the same, otherwise....
