Hey Fraggle,

thats a 50A 060 CPU you have there......

Very over-clockable, with a heatsink & used in a Tower case! :D

@ fraggle

I have moderated your post to remove references to prices paid on other sites. On Amibay, we aren't interested in what price an item went for elsewhere in comparison to what you are asking on here, as that is considered price driving and is against the site rules.

This is a "State your price and be damned" site.

Thanks

Merlin

"On Amibay, we aren't interested in what price an item went for elsewhere"
FYI, that was a price that was realized HERE, and far from driving prices, I have reduced mine to LESS than that !

I HAVE stated my price, which I think is fair. If anyone disagrees, they are at liberty to comment.

No they're not! :D

Thread guidelines (http://www.amibay.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=41)

* Don't post in a thread to say you are not interested or that you think the price is too high.

Fair enough, however, your original just read that because someone else got 60 more for his, it sort of justified your price; it would have been far simpler to just state your price and go from there.

Besides, there are lots of other factors like condition, boxed, manuals etc. that could influence the value of the item.

PPC accelerator prices are crazy at the moment anyway.....

@ meega: The rules also state that you can always drop your price later, so if someone IS interested, but thinks the price is too high, they would have to make some sort of statement to this effect in order to start negotiations. If I was to be to be pedantic about posting in threads, they can always PM the seller with their opinion.

@ Merlin: Please read my post carefully. it said "Saw one of these snapped up at 300 Euros, which is about 238." This was for an '060 card ONLY.

The price difference is therefore 18, not the 60 that you somehow got, and I meant the original price as a "Ballpark" figure, not as a means of justifying MY price, because I don't know what condition the other board was in.
Speaking of condition, you must have noticed that I also posted photos of said boards, so that anyone interested can judge for themselves. I did, however, omit to mention that the boards are boxed, come with manual (In German, for the '060 unfortunately) and install disks.
And what has the price of PPC cards got to do with this ?

@ fraggle

If it`s any consolation, things have been a bit tense lately RE this kind of thing.
It was perhaps a little bold of Merlin from the off as you did refer an on-site & recent price.
We have an awful lot of infractions RE the Site rules recently & the Traders debate is still very hot right now.

meega was quite right stating what he did, but only in face of Merlins attempted Coo. He`s just doing his job.

Meantime, please accept my apologies on behalf of the AmiBay team. We are all here trying to be fair to all & sometimes under more pressure than realised. :|

Best Wishes,

Kin :)

@ fraggle

Apologies, I am not above admitting when I get things wrong.... I sort of mis-read your post after a very long day and I was tired, please disregard my previous comments.

As K-H says, I was keeping things tidy and sorting out posts from members who clearly haven't read or understood the rules (not you, I might add) and I overstepped the mark in moderating your post.

I did consider deleting posts, but I have left this to show that moderators can sometimes make mistakes.

Merlin

Are these items still available and is the SCSI card available separately? If so, what are the model specifics? Thank you.

I'm interested in the SCSI kit if it will fit a Blizzard 1240 and is the price negotiable?

It always makes me laugh when people try to buy things from threads that are over a year old.

@ tone007

I know what you mean. The Thread Starter has not been doing his house keeping has he! - Nor have the Mods been in this back yard for a while.

Kinda ironic considering the way this thread started....

Perhaps if the date of posting was clearly visible on the main listings, things would be easier.
I must confess it took me ages to find the date of posting, even though I was looking for it, and until I saw the comment that this was an old posting I had assumed the posting date was reflected by the position in the listings. Now of course I can see that every reply moves the item up the list and although I appreciate the reasoning, I am not sure this is the correct approach.

Mike.
