Hi,

I am interested in an A3000D motherboard but with no leakage damage nor any broken trace, etc.... so, in perfect shape, please.

I would be interested in a complete system either if not possible the motherboard alone.

Send PM, please.

thanks!

 impressive.

Very well explained. I haven't been lucky with A3000D...2 times motherboard issues. It is difficult to get one in good condition that you can look it before buying....If you know one, let me know, please!!

by the way...there is a question not related to the A3000 itself but you seem to know because you write about it on your thread:

Warpengine, CSMK2 and CSMK3.

I know Warpengine 4040 is very well made. It can play mp3 that the A3640 is absolutly unable to play and it is close to the CSMK2 that obviously has more CPU power (I would like to see an upgraded WE 060 vs CSMK2 ;) ). But the main question is: Why CSMK3 is much prefered over the CSMK2? and if its price worths it (at least the price is twice the CSMK2).

Thank you!

The vast majority of 3000D's have taken MB damage. Amibay is a great site to buy from, ask the seller to show you the battery and pull denise and paula to see if any corrosion has taken place. Successfully removing battery damage is extremely difficult and time consuming process and very few do it right... I made many mistakes early on and am looking for the best way... Every 3000 I treated for battery damage has failed within 2 years. I think I have a great method now and it is time consuming.

I owned a CSMK2 and ran it side by side with a WE3040. The MK 2 has weak memory access and you cannot add the scsi add on in a 3000D case. The WE has real nice memory access, the 3040 has a int clip so you don't have to hack the MB for SCSI access. It is a better built and thought out card... The CSMK3 has fast memory access and the fastest scsi controller you can get for the 3000D. The MK 3 has the controller built into the card, like the WE. For sheer performance the MK3 is the fastest accelerator for the 3000D that doesn't require hacking the case...

Is it worth it? Only you can quantify that. From a value standpoint, I would say no it isn't worth it. From a hobby perspective, sure it is always fun to play with the best. Practically speaking it is hard to justify from a logical value based position...
