I got one Android phone through work, a HTC Desire. And of course I had to install all the useful stuff I could find. So I got this mod/xm/it/etc player, and recall owning tons of great mods - Just can't recall the names of any beside the guitar slinger. So I'd love to be entertained by the sounds of my youth on the go :)

So if anyone can point me to their favorite, esp if it is in the generes of 90s rave/jungle/techno/house.

I know of sites with lots and lots, just will probably spend the better half of this century to go through the list. So to have already screened ones would be great :)

Check modules.pl for top downloads and those that got the highest votes.

I am quite fond of Jim Young's (aka u4ia aka f8 ) stuff. Dave's Stomper is a reet samplefest and probably fits in your genre pretty well!

http://modarchive.org/index.php?request=view_by_moduleid&query=167700

p.s. What player are you using? I tried MilkyTracker on my WM6 phone, but it was a bit of a failure (cant remember what didn't work, but it didn't)

I'm using this,

http://swimmer.se/droidsound/

which is for android.

Most people grew up with popular music on, recording on MC from the radio and such. In the strict christian family I'm from I only had my dads country collection, and c64 and later Amiga music. my father swapped (thou shalt not steal?) discs with some friends all over the world, and thus I got hold of demos and tons of mods. Later Amiga bbs'es. So my relation to music was mods until I was around 18 and I sold my Amiga for a.. PC.

Dave's Stomper didn't have the most excting start, but really came on after a while. And ratings on the mod pl-site was very helpful. Just a bit too much newer stuff, nothing I faintly recalled from yesteryear. But at least place to start. I'll have to introduce the guys at univ about what they missed being born in the 90s. ;)

Maybe a Xmas song?

This one was made by a friend of mine.:banme:

Found one of my old favorites

Found one of my old favorites

I found one of my old favorites, and for those too lazy to download and try this is Cos Niesamowitego by Dreamer of Flying Cows.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lK_P3mrcII

I made a vid of it because the most funky part of it is how the tracker goes while playing. not 100% in sync with my video grabber, but you get the idea. Plus the tune can make a gray day nice ;)

Cool. I like Dreamer's mods, it's not only a pleasure to listen but also an eye-candy to watch in ProTracker, the patters go up, down, slide, fastforward, run, zoom... It's maaad!
My favorite is Black Sacrifice, yeah!

BTW: "coś niesamowitego" means "something incredible"

:) I was about to check with google translate on that - afraid I was promoting something nasty. He was the first I've checked out when I started digging through the mods, but had to go through every on aminet before I looked elsewhere for the one I missed. Not that it matters, his music is very particular. Goes from very straight to completely bonkers. A real treat compared to most that have grand, but not that entertaining pieces.

Never played Black Sacrifice before in the tracker, but you're right - that had some rather erratic movements in the tracker :)

He ;)
Dreamer's quite... let's say "politically correct". Don't remember all his mod's names, but out of those available on modules.pl, only the last one "Zabij mame i tate" can be a bit controversial as it literally means "Kill mom and dad".

I have a nice pile of favourites, but some are not suitable for this forum...

 NOTES:

This is the second song of my 'War Stories Cycle' begun in february 2000
 with 'The Last Morning'.

It is still not a real classical orchestral music, but that is not really
the aim. It lacks of 'music flexibility' . I mean I rather did music
themes with orchestral instruments than orchestral music composed in the
classical style. Understand?

 CURIOUS:

I've found that one Amiga song (Awesome.mod, from Psygnosis maybe) has
similar theme to the introducing theme of my song. And I actually
discovered that mod after I my theme. Amusing.

Samples mainly come from Skaven, Little Elk, Zepsi, Azo, Kiarchive, GUS,
some ST disks and others various source .. (including myself)
Thanks to those I borrowed the samples.
As usual, one big thanks for Jeffrey Lim responsible of Impulse Tracker!

I uploaded one of my collections, but was long time ago. Zip archive was 42Mb in size. Some mods are still ppcrunched/powerpacked... I'll dig my music HD and repost if you want.

I'm a rock guy, as you already know, but I have lots of techno stuff as it is the main Amiga style and some are real good.
