My fellow Amibayers

Following the events of the last week the staff have decided to put in place some interim measures to allow some form of normality to return to the forum.

These measures have been implemented by the staff for the following reasons:

to ensure a safe environment for trading to continue.

to create more trust between staff and members

to re-create a structured staff environment for the resolution of the issues that have been raised.
These are the measures that have been taken:

Zetr0 has be re-instated as a staff member (moderator)

5 members have been contacted with a view to becoming moderators to not only reduce the workload which is desperately needed, but also to create a larger staff group for the benefit of democracy amongst the staff.

The staff have decided to put aside their differences to allow proper discussions to take place.

These are interim measures to allow us to progress and are not at the expense of democracy or any other suggestions that have been made.

What happens next?

I will chair a discussion with the staff members to create an “Amibay Charter” to be the backbone on how Amibay operates. All staff members will be involved (if they wish) with every member having an equal right regardless of status.

The Amibay Charter will then be presented to the whole membership for scrutiny where suggestions will be welcome as to any improvements that can be made.
Once ratified the final version will become the backbone to how Amibay is run.

What it means to you

It will allow for staff to be recruited, removed or promoted by an agreed method,

It will enable us to tackle some of the many other issues that have been raised.

It will hopefully install a trust back into the community on how decisions are made in the future.

We thank you all for your input in the last few days and hope that these interim measure foster a era of trust and open discussion amongst all members,

Gary (Imnogeek) on behalf of the Amibay staff .
