View Full Version : Becoming an Amibayer! and access the Recycle Bin!

8th June 2010, 13:36
If you have recently joined Amibay, or are currently a standard registered member, then you might be interested in becoming an Amibayer!

The Recycle Bin

Amibay contains a special forum only accessible by Amibayer members called the Recycle Bin.

The Recycle Bin is where members can offer goods that they personally no longer want/need, but think that other members might find useful. All items posted within the Recycle Bin must be offered for free apart from the cost of shipping the item (hence Recycling).

The Recycle Bin is off-limits to traders as we aren't about to provide a cheap or free supply of items for the auction sites; anyone caught abusing the Recycle Bin in such a way will automatically lose their Amibayer status.

How do I become an Amibayer! and gain access to the Recycle Bin?

To join the Amibayer group and gain access to the Recycle bin, you must request to join as follows.

Go to your UserCP (http://www.amibay.com/usercp.php) and select the Group Membership (http://www.amibay.com/profile.php?do=editusergroups) page. Once in here you will see Amibayers as a user group to join. Click the "Join Group" radio button to the right of the group and then click the "Join Group" button at the bottom of the page.

Your request to become an Amibayer and gain access to the Recycle Bin will be sent to the group leaders and they will look at your request and decide if you can be granted access.

Granting membership

The success of each request to become an Amibayer will depend on your current Amibay status.

If you are a new Amibay member and/or haven't posted much, and none of the group leaders knows you then your request to join may be turned down until you are better known on Amibay.

If a group leader already knows you and can vouch for you, or you have been a member of Amibay for some time and have a good track record on the site and at least one of the group leaders has got to know you, then you will be granted access.

Note: Normally a member with a 0 post count will be turned down. If you have only just joined, try to actively take part in the site's community chat sections to get yourself known, and then apply to join the Amibayers group a bit later once you have a few posts under your belt.

Contacting an Amibayer Group Leader

The Amibayers! group, and the members within it, are controlled and managed by the Amibayers group's leaders. The list of these leaders is shown next to the group on the Group Memberships (http://www.amibay.com/profile.php?do=editusergroups) page.

If you have any questions about this group please contact one of them via PM.
