Forgive me for dropping in, but I'm curious. What does a Blizzard 1260 do that an Apollo 1260 doesn't? Are there some shiny features, or is it just better compatibility?
Depends what you want to use it for, both are good cards.
Blizzard can have more ram then an apollo, blizzard's scsi (if you use it) is much better then the Apollo interface, and allows for 128Mb extra ram (total of 256Mb). I believe the apollo has also alot faster in chip access then a blizzard and is more easily to overclock.
Come to think of it, the main reason i want blizzard is for the ram and because i have no experience with Apollo.
I'm not sure what the max ram on the cards linked would be (if it's 128Mb, i might be able to live with that actually, but i think it needs a 2nd simm socket for 128 Mb which these cards don't have).
So i actually don't really exactly know what 'THE' difference is. I'm open to suggestions which might change my mind, it's for a tower i will be getting shortly, not a normal 1200.
