So here we go, i have two A4000's and spare one has a serious audio problem, yeah, as we all know it's those tiny capasitors to blame.
Thing which i'm in need of help is, what kind of options will i have with capsitors, tantalums or anything else which would be suitable for replacement for the originals. I'm looking for a bit easier way to solder the new ones.

I started this thread http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=35176 on EAB originally asking for someone else to do the sound repair on my 4000D.

If you follow the thread through to the end - you'll see various options suggested and discussed. Along with links for helpful soldering tips etc.

And you'll see that I eventually repaired my own Miggy. All you need is plenty of practice and some good tools.

Thank you! Followed few links to other related posts, and now figured out what to do :) Nice and not too easy at the same time, but with a patience and a box of old unusable pc stuff for practicing, i think it can be done, cleaning the board at the moment and checking which ones are the possible trouble makers.

I'm not sure if the thread above mentioned this site http://amiga.serveftp.net/hardware_repair.html or not but it's worth having a look at as well.

Repair done by myself 8) Audio working perfectly now, all crackling noises are gone for good and sound is clear, just like it should be. I did use tantalum's, may not the best solder work for a first time and i used a cheap gas soldering unit for desoldering those SMD capasitors, cheap and useful http://www.dremeleurope.com/dremelocs-f ... rod_id=330

I have destroyed one old unused pc graphics card, just for a practice, before doing this rescue job
