Hi

I'm using a cv64 (not 3d) but when I have the passthrough cable connected the 4000 doesn't boot. The power light flashes and it keeps rebooting every second.

I've tried reseating it and using another zorro slot.

I'm basically trying to feed the 15khz rgb signal into it.

Any ideas?

Craig

How are you connecting the A4000 RGB output to the CV64 ?
I'm quite sure the Amiga H/V sync lines must be buffered (something to do with Genlock, can't remember exactly).

Yeah that is what I'm trying to do.

How do I buffer them?

So you think this may cause the amiga to behave this way? Because it's not buffered? I just want to make sure it's likely behaviour before I buy something to fix it.

No pressure I'd you're not certain though :p

Ok I'm getting confused a bit now. Obviously I'm already using an rbg to vga adaptor otherwise I can't connect to the input of the cv64. It's just one of the made to order ones from amigakit. Is this the same thing?

I really don't know, depends on what it has inside.
The Commodore adapter has a buffering IC.

I suggest you do a search in various Amiga forums, this issue seems to appear from time to time.

Just an update. Looks like you were right. I did a test where I only plugged the lead in after boot and it worked. Signal came through as well. I need a buffered one then.

I owe you a beer.

Cheers
