Switched over to some TV. Hells Kitchen USA. More fun times.

Saw some odd lines on the right-hand side of the screen. Weird.

Switched back to the Amiga, which was showing the AMOS Pro editor screen. Very clearly defined on the right-hand side of the display was a ghost of the icons for my 4 Dungeon Master Warriors currently held weapons.

Fuuuuuuuuuulippin hell!

Turned the TV off. Turned the TV on. Still there.

Turned the TV off, read some Wikipedia about the Commodore Plus/4, 128 and 128D. Turned the TV on. Still there (but a bit less noticable).

That had best not be there when I switch my TV on again, tomorrow morning. :censored:

I am Walter, aged 28 from Malta. I have grew fondly in love with the amiga since attending secondary school and seeing my friends going to each other's house to play countless hours! In fact I was late due that I had my first amiga 1200 back in 1995, where all computers shops salesmen stated the sentence 'The Amiga failed!' :wooha: I had already bought capcom's Street fighter 2 for the amiga (before actually buying the amiga!) since I had spent money on the arcade version. I insisted on having one and at least the sole agent had one left (a1200 from commodore). Have been buying magazines and had also an orientation course. I regret the moment that I have sold the amiga, in 1999 because I had bought a PC  I was not worried since I used emulation, but hey it's not close to the real thing! And now I have acquired the a1200 back, for free from a true friend! I have also bought it's little brother the A600  I still use emulation on pc (Amigaforever on xp) and U-Uae on linux ubuntu.

Hope to help me in upgrading my a1200. I have already bought a 4gb kingston cf card with whdload preinstalled, and have also registered it, it's worth it! But with a standard a1200 I knew that not all games work, in fact if you can help me about the a1200 ram I really appreciate :p

I dismantled the Amiga connector end of my A120's PSU the other day to quickly hack together some power from an ATX PSU.

What I forgot to do was make a note of what wire came from where on the original PSU's PCB. Durrrr.

I also can't find (spent 15 minutes now) a picture, description or otherwise of the proper pinout. The only one labeled on the PCB is Ground. I thought I'd just go ahead and test it with a meter, but the PSU doesn't seem to kick out any power at all unless there's a load connected.

Please help

Hi Everyone,

Years ago (2004) I sold a Power Computing Viper 630 card with 8 meg of RAM on it due to my financial circumstances at that time

I really regret that now so thought I would see if anyone has one they no longer require, maybe due to upgrading to an Amiga 1200?

It would be really cool to find an 8meg card with the optional maths co-processor - very unlikely though!

I fancy building the A600 machine I intended to build back in 1997 which I never got round to finishing..

Let me know, cheers

:)

Hello all!

My name is Pentad and I would like to introduce myself to you:

I am a child of Commodore from the 1980s. I received my first computer -Commodore 64- in 1982 @ the tender age of 12.

I loved the computer and it will always have a special place in my heart.

I purchased a Commodore 128 when it came out and really enjoyed the machine. All the fun of the 64 plus the great Basic 7.0 of the 128. A truly awesome machine that I don't think gets enough respect. Bil Herd rocks! :-)

I then upgraded to an Amiga 500 which got me through the rest of high school and college.

I was lucky enough to purchase an Amiga 3000 and Amiga 4000 before Commodore would self-destruct.

My favorite machine would have to be the Amiga 3000 with AMIX. While the 4000 had AGA the 3000 was such a powerful machine with a plethora of RAM options.

I did a lot of work with Kickstart and -with help- wrote one of the first Kickstart relocation programs on the Amiga (loading Kickstart compiled for $200000).

I also translated one of the Atari ST Emulators to the Amiga (from German to English). I learned a great deal about TOS.

I am teach Computer Science at a university, I do programming (mostly in Visual Studio), I worked for NASA and the FBI, and I did the film "In the Company of Men" which won many film awards.

I own a MBP 15" (2.8 Ghz, 8 GB of Ram, 500 GB HD) and swap between Mac and Windows.

I will always hold Commodore, their computers, and the people of the time in a special place in my heart. I grew with these machines and it was a very special time.

While it may sound silly, I worry about the disappearance of software and technology from the 1980s and 1990s. So much was produced during that time but I'm afraid much of it will not get preserved for history.

Copyrights and Software Patents (issues I teach) are terrible in their current form. I wish changes could be made to preserve so much before its gone.

Year and years ago, a friend had Atari Unix running on their Atari TT machine. I've never seen it since. I worry about software like that becoming extinct before anybody can make a copy of it and make sure its safely preserved.

I was the first person to start archiving and documenting AMIX on the Amiga. I was fearful that it too would be lost given its limited time and success in the market. I know there are many more applications on the AMiga and else where that deserve to be archived, documented and preserved for the future.

While Microsoft and Apple are well documented in the media and history books, there are many more stories I wish I could read about. I am very grateful for the Commodore book (On the Edge: The Spectacular Rise and Fall of Commodore), I wish there was one on all the other companies as well.

I used to have a huge collection of old computers but I have since parted it out. I know enjoy the classics through emulators and reading many of the magazines that have been converted to PDFs.

I look forward to contributing what I can here.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,
P

I stumbled over a lot of interesting things while I searched for some stuff. One of the cool things when you're collecting stuff for years is that you never know what you own

So I found a box with 10 boxed Amiga 2000 keyboards. All in perfect shape, never used and new. The one I've made a picture of is an UK layout keyboard (discovered that a few minutes ago). I think the most are UK but there should be also some with german layout.

If you're interested in one (or more) just declare interest in this thread and THEN write a PM. It will last a few days until I will get back to all my stuff, so I can send it in around 7-10 days I guess.

Due to the fact that these are probably the last new and unused ones to find I ask 50€ for each + shipping to anywhere in the world.

Shipping to EU is 11€ tracked, worldwide 16€.

Hi Amibay readers,

I would like to buy an Atari Jaguar - does not need to be boxed but as long as it comes with a PSU, joypad and AV lead. A game to see it working and have a play is a bonus too.

Has anyone got a Jaguar they would like to sell? Preferably UK based for postage reasons but I don't think they are very heavy so maybe Euro based will be fine.

Thanks for reading and let me know if you have something and the price.

Cheers
