Unknown IDE adapter/splitter for A4000

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here seen one of these before, and explain if it's anything more than just a splitter?

Any pointers appreciated [emoji23]

Sorry tried replying earlier but site went down, this looks like a buffered 4way IDE with an option to use 44way instead of one of the 40way powered by the molex. Useful if you wanted to use a 2.5in IDE SSD and slave CDROM
 
Ah thanks for clearing that up, I was under the impression that some ram stuff was needed to buffer it, but I guess the pal chip contains all that.

Thinking about it, the A4000 is already buffered isn't it? So maybe just a splitter after all?
