Left behind after servers upgrade a few years ago. Untested at the moment, but should work fine.

Would they work in a standard desktop motherboard? (Non ECC Reg.).
 
From what I've read you need some server CPU like Xeon. It won't work with normal desktops.
 
You also need to check compatibility if your board req buffered or unbuffered ecc

some mac pros use ecc and they have like 8 or more dim slots :)
 
This memory will work in a MacPro 4.1 and 5.1

It will not work or even fit into a MacPro 1.1, 2.1 or 3.1
