Hey all,

Just looking for some help on the usual a600 black screen issue.

To start, the issue also occured before I completely recapped the motherboard. Having read a few articles I checked pin 3 of the 555 and it stays high. One article suggested when C612 was removed they got the 600 to boot. I tried this and sure enough after 30 seconds or so the screen flickers and starts to post and then presents the Purple loading screen. Immediate power cycle at this point results in a fairly quick boot 5-6 seconds (kickrom2.05), but leaving the power off for five minutes and you get the long delay again.

Given this is a new capacitor I though it was a bit strange.

I then also replaced c611 with a cermic radial 100nf. Still the same eventual boot. At this point I reinstalled the new C612 10uf and it goes to no boot at all.

Any advice?

Thanks

Have you checked to contunity from the 555 to the other componants? I would try replacing the 555 IC..

:0-)
