    Hi johnnybarker, thanks for sharing your experience. I think that not only the Disk (CF, SSD, hdd) and the CD must be on the same channel but they must also be of a particular (compatible) type. As soon as possible I'll try to install the OS 4.1 in an old hdd using a 44 pin to 2x40 pin cable as suggested by fitzsteve. I'll update this thread with the results in the hope they could help someone else in the future.

    Yes, I think you are correct. Thinking about it now I had the same problem with OS 3.9 on the FastATA. I have used a lot of different CF card adapters and and some of them seem to behave slightly differently. I don't know why but I guess it could also depend on the card brand being used. I have started to use the SD card adapters more often as I have encountered less problems with drive compatibility and corruption.

    Hi there, I ordered the cable with two 44 pins output and I'll keep in mind your advice about the SD cards.
