Hi All! Hope everyone's keeping safe.

I recently bought one of tbtorro's 95% completed ReAmiga boards and my good friend ScrappySphinx completed the additional work for me.

As it turned out the work wasn't quite as straight forward as first thought, there were some additional components we needed to add after some research and some correctional work to some soldering however to be expected for a project such as this and I'm highly grateful for all Michael's work as I know he put a considerable amount of time into finishing this off for me.

I think I was a bit naive taking on this project as originally was considering soldering the through hole components myself but I'm absolutely delighted at how it turned out (y)

Here's some images of the board:

Michael had it soak testing with 3.1.4 and 8mb Ram over the weekend but I was keen to see if it could handle the BPPC/BVision :ninja:

Board runs rock solid, aside from some slight issues I have the the graphics card but I know these are not related to the ReAmiga board as they're present on another Motherboard.

Originally I bought the board for my A1200T Black Box Tower and that will eventually be where it ends up but for now I have it in this case I picked up from Amibay recently and keyboard from Justin. I have some Blue LEDs to solder which will look nice in the black case I think.

Here's a link to the A1200T project; I think most will agree it will look amazing alongside the Mediator 1200TX Black Edition.

Nice work! Chucky would be proud. :)

btw, did you have much trouble adding those PLCC sockets to the board?

Thanks! I really couldn't have dine it without Mike's help tho!

tbtorro added the Alice socket as there was no Alice on the board, as it turns out Mike had to resolder it as the Chip Ram wasn't showing up, this cured the issue. He didn't say it was particularly hard to do; if we did it over I would have just told Mike to solder the Alice direct to the board however Mike wasn't 100% sure the Alice was working as it was pulled from a faulty CD32. The ReAmiga board was 95% complete from tbtorro, mostly was just the connectors that needed doing and we replaced some caps under Chucky's recommendation to electrolytic. Here's the board as it was when I received it:

The parts pictured were also supplied by tbtorro as part of the components pack, I had to add the following: (From Mouser)

667-EEH-ZA1E221P
EEH-ZA1E221P
220uF 25volt (3no) to replace the tantal caps

659-SGC3S100
SGC3S100
3-10pF 50V TRM CAP (for Video Circuit)

Some connectors and headers: (Mike supplied the DSUB 23)

710-618025231421
618025231421
WR-DSUB Male PCB

710-618025231321
618025231321
WR-DSUB Female PCB

571-826632-5
826632-5
2X05P DUAL ROW

538-87758-2216
87758-2216
VERT HEADER 22P

517-4842-6000-CP
4842-6000-CP
42P DUAL WIPE DIPSKT

517-D2534-6002-AR
D2534-6002-AR
34P 4-WALL HEADER

Mike supplied a few other bits from donor boards such as a zener diode as I had adv101 on my board.

I really wish I had the skills to complete it myself but I'm sure I would have made a mess of it, my highest achievement to date is soldering a new 72pin simm socket where the old had already been removed! But it worked :D

Apart from the CPU, I find the Chip Ram is the hardest part to solder onto the board correctly. There isn't much spacing in between each ram chip so it can be difficult to see if every leg has been soldered correctly.

Shouldn't the 22 pin clockport pin header be soldered on the right hand side rather than the left?

I thought that too but I'm sure Mike checked the documentation

Nice job! I have a bare board from Chucky in a tub with many small bags of components waiting...

Hi fitzsteve,
I also have a tbtorro's 95% completed ReAmiga board on the way, bought the last one a few weeks ago. It may take a while to get here tho, COVID mail to Oz:roll:. Thanks for the tips and glad to hear you have it up and running.:)

Hey Dano, sorry I missed you post, did you receive your board yet?

I had some time at the weekend to transplant the board into my Black Box Tower but sadly I can't get it working with the Mediator, it Gurus when it tries to load the Monitor drivers, tried all slots for the graphics card and the usual trial and error techniques to no avail. The same configuration is working fine with my other A1200 Motherboard so seems to be a compatibility issue somewhere. I will keep trying as I'm really keen to use this with the Black Mediator as I think they make a great set.

Here's some pics from the build:

Nice tower,(y) hopefully something simple with the mediator issue.
My own ReAmiga board is still on the slow boat to Oz, maybe before Christmas:blink:

Thanks, hopefully arrives with you soon :)

I decided to back to the original Motherboard in the end after trying everything I could. It's all back as it was now and working like a charm so my advice is if it ain't broke; don't try to fix it!

The ReAmiga looks fantastic in my Black case anyway. Here's a quick sneak preview of the project:
