Hi,

I am in the (long) process of building a GBA1000 board, and have just bought the hardware for Hese's excellent A4000TX project.
What I have yet to do is programme the GALs using the JEDEC files and in the case of the GBA100 board, programme the LSI1024 (TSOP was pre-programmed on board by Kipper).
This includes some Lattice chips and the more recent Atmel chips.

So wanted to reach out and ask for any recommendations for a reasonably priced chip programmer that I could buy for this purpose?
I see in some other threads various programmer makes from a few years back but these don't appear to be readily available.

Any advice appreciated

Hi,
I think the TL866 programmer (about €70 on ebay) can do most GALs, you'd have to check the compatibility list for the exact parts you need to program.

Hi,

As far as I remember the TL866II cannot program these lattice chips.

I made an adapter to program the plsi1024 /lsi1024 using jtag, it's fairly easy to do - just need voltages to be correct.

Write me if you need me to program some, I have spare chips.
