Great weekend guys, back home safe and sound in Barnsley.

what can i say ? an excellent weekend , very enjoyable ....tired and hungover still!

great but loud! , the after show event on Sat didn't really go to plan but thats not important. The beer was flowing on both friday night and sat night too.

guest speakers - team17 was interesting and amusing too.

all in all very good (loud and too bloody dark!) but apart from that , excellent.

special thanks in no particular order..

Phil, Keith, Gaz , justin, John (s), gary, duncan, fat bob and all the guys i made fun of , abused and got drunk with :)

All amiga's from 68k / ppc to Amiga One on show on the Amibay stand and things were well organised by Phil , Keith and the rest of the guys.

The Hotel was huge and typical of Blackpool...but why the Hilton (its only 5 mins away ...(phil - are we there yet?) for the after show event ha ha

my first and not last Retro or Amibay event...

mike.

OAP president

Igame short cut doest work...hang on , igame doesn't work ...hang on nothing works now.... Johnim

"The Scotland" from ....China

"nose bleed" no further comment....Gaz

"scan doubler? but why?? (me)

"well its runs fine for about 4 mins..." Phil on his PPC (did i mention my PPC?)

"i thought i smelled burning yesterday" Johnim by a dead monitor

"its like a table of OAPs" ....a passing comment from a young girl

.....i must write down how the use the Ti99 , it took me two hours on Friday night to get the bloody thing loading up and playing game grrrr

Looks like great fun...
I know another project I've been following was there also....
Someone has made an original looking device that plugs into an Atari 7800 and greatly enhances it (more memory, Yamaha and Pokey sound chips, etc.) called the XM.
(Form the guys who made the Atari Flashback units..)

Not sure I'll jump on buying that one, but it's a great looking project and I saw some pics on another forum that they demo'd it there...

There's just too much cool retro and too little money.. ;-)

(I'm kicking myself because some guy has written the most incredible homebrew port of Time Pilot for the Vectrex, which I CRAVE, but the price is above my single game hobby price.. Man, where's the lottery when I need it..)

Come to think of it, it's probably a good thing I couldn't go...

It's already killing me what I missed.. ;-)

desiv

thats enough pics from me...

HI John and John , yes it was great fun. we should do it more often but i know the distance is an issue. especially from 'the Scotland'

What an awesome weekend, great to catch up with you all and meet some new faces.

Highlights for me include.

1) Meeting Ben Daglish
2) Meeting James - (Heavy Stylus) from rgcd.co.uk and having a play with an early build of c64anabalt! Awesome and cant wait to get the game at the end of the month!
3) Jens admiring my SX64 (although he wasnt the only one as you can see in the pictures) and also his comments on my uber rare c128cr
4) Cosmicfrog, smashing a baloon in to the faces of a group of unsuspecting strangers sat round a table and then skipping off giggling in a way that only Cosmic can do,
5) All of our aftershow get togethers and and the great banter and laughs.
6) Owning Juvvy on Lotus 2 again (this time with both joysticks working)
7) Watching a member of the public trying to restart my C128 by attempting a Ctrl-Alt-Del shape on the keyboard.
8) Playing Traffic Dodger III on the projector games (comming to xbox live soon)
9) I actually quite enjoyed watching the Cosplay including our very own pink Stabby one, (the clear winner in our eyes). Everyone put so much effort into their costumes and brightened up the place.

Is that he-mans sword? And did any frenchies survive to tell the tale?

Nasty nose bleed...

Aw man! Looks like a right blast had by all :D

Nice to see the Amibay Banner RAISED UP this time!! Looks like there was a much bigger presence of teh amibaiz this year!

I lol'd @ Cosmic's balloon burst prank, I can just imagine that haha! Did he wave alot at random passers by as well? :D

And what's with the cute cosplay girlies hanging around the Amibay stand? Wowzers! (Why didn't I come this year again?) Must be all the attractive OAP's! :D

So, lots of nice pics of the hardware (and girlies)... where are the random drunken after party pics? And did you all venture out into the wild and find any frightening and sticky night clubs?

And did Justin finally meet Alan Glinson? :D

Yay the OAP group leader is younger than me :)

wave alot at random passers by

indeed I did, its all part of the fun, at the after party show felt like sending some of them to the miserable corner, especial one young lady who thought the paper airplanes where beneath her hehehehehe. Its a party.... so party like you haveing a good time or stay miserable so we can take the P*s* out of ya :p

i believe there is an after event video soon to be posted:D

and thanks for that picture from last year:p

oh I missed that as I had to crash, but really want to see the UNedited version :)

Great weekend everyone, shame I didnt have my camera with me, although a lack of evidence is sometimes a good thing ;)

Hey Gazcbm... nice amiga! ;)
