This FAQ is intended for people that have tried to sign up at AmiBay, but for some reason the account was not made active. Hopefully this will give you some idea as to why and what you can do about it.

I have applied for an AmiBay account, but why hasn't it been activated?

There are a few reasons why an account may not have been activated. These could include:-

1. Your location could not be verified as part of the site security checks that we carry out on new accounts. This could be the case if you use a pay-as-you-go dongle or a mobile phone for Internet access. If you have mis-stated your location, this could also be the reason for your account not being activated.

2. You provided no e-mail contact details, or an obviously false e-mail address. The rules of our site ask that you provide a verifiable e-mail address.

3. Your account was identified as being associated with a previously banned member.

4. Your account was identified as being linked to possible Trader activity on other sites. If this is the case please contact us with regards setting up a AmiTrader account for you.

5. Your account was not activated as a result of known previous poor trading history on other retro sites.

If your account has not been activated and you feel that it should have been, you should e-mail admin@amibay.com, to either provide sufficient location and/or e-mail account information to enable your account to be verified and opened, to open a Trader account if you wish to do so, or to generally state your case as to why we should reconsider our decision not to activate your account.
