This is about the second batch of the centralized buying for the Do-It-Yourself CDTV SCSI module by MatthiasH. The project requires medium skills in soldering. Soldering has to be done by you or your friend!
The project description can be read here and the final version with German build instructions but a lot of self-explaining pictures can be found in post #63 or here.
As you can see the images only as a registered user, I tried to create a PDF document (but unfortunately the pictures are pretty small): View attachment CDTV-SCSI build instructions.pdf

What is it and for which computers can it be used?
This is a redesign of the reference SCSI-Module for the CDTV from Commodore. It also works in an A570, but sticks out at the end.

What can this thing do?
It adds a Autoboot SCSI-Controller to your CDTV with one internal 50-pin SCSI connector. The SCSI-bus is terminated on the PCB. The termination cannot be switched off. The driver is already included in your CDTV-ROMs. The use of Version 2.30 ROMs is strongly recommended but V1.0 ROMs work too. An unpatched system supports hard disks up to 1GB. A possible way to patch this can be read here. The CDTV still boots from your CD-Drive first, if a CD is present!

How to set up the hard disk?
You can set up the hard disk via the regular HDToolBox (scsi.device) or better using the HDInstTool from the aminet. There will be no special installation disk. You can use the a590-ones as a basis.

What are the extra connectors?
The design has two Jumpers and one solder-blob-jumper. The solder blob simply switches the clock of SCSI-Chip from 7 to 16MHz. The other two jumpers give you the possibility to put an activity led somewhere in your CDTV. The second jumper is a disable switch, which allows you to see the nice rotating CD instead of booting directly from the hd. The switch and LED are not included. Its your own business, if you want these options.

What can this card not do?
There is no external connector, because we do not want to build a custom cover for the case. If you really want an external drive, you can put a internal to external connector at the end of your internal SCSI-Cable and find your own way to put the connector through the CDTV-case.

Where to put an internal hard drive?
Between the CD-Drive and the power supply is enough room to put a 3.5" drive. SCSI2IDE-Adapters work well, too. With IDE-CF adapter you have a very silent retro-Media PC!

--> HERE YOU FIND NEW INFORMATIONS FOR THE THIRD BATCH (2015) <--

The order works like the first batch:

Everyone who wants to buy some sets registered his amount in this thread and sends a PM to me. The deadline for this is 13th of October 2013. Everyone has to pay in advance. This is necessary, because the parts cost much more than 1000€. AFTER that date MatthiasH orders the necessary components. Producing the PCBs will take at least 3 weeks! So be patient.
When everything arrived at my place I will organize the bulk order, packing and shipping ... This is a one-man show, so packing and shipping can last for some days here, too. I'm a human with a job no robot.

Technical questions about function, etc. please ask directly to MatthiasH,or better here. We speak English ;). In this thread it's all about the centralized buying only, no support!

The project contains: PCB, parts and an AM33C93A-P16 SCSI-Chip.
The price is fixed to 13€. This covers all the parts and the packing.

Insured shipping as a big letter with tracking number is 7€ to everywhere in the world for up to 4 sets, otherwise a little bit more. The paypal fees have to be payed by you if you haven't gift option. Customs might be an issue, so Ill write a customs declaration label if wished otherwise not!

Remember:
End of order is 13th of October 2013! Shipping should be possible in November/December 2013.

If you are interested, please write in this thread and gives a number of items do you want.
