Please Help!!

Guys I have a question. What speed Crystal Oscillator do I need for 1230 MK III.

I removed the old and have ordered this!

Oszillator QX14-Serie Qantek QX14T50B48.00000B50TT Frequenz 48.000 MHz Bauform DIL14

http://www.voelkner.de/products/558...0B50TT-Frequenz-48.000-MHz-Bauform-DIL14.html

and this:

Quarz-Oszillator 48MHz

Can i use one of this oscillators to overclock my Apollo 1230MK 3 ???

:double:wooha:

Hallo Kollegen AmiBayer

The Apollo Mk3 was distributed with a speed of 40Mhz, all components were rated for 40Mhz CLOCK speed.

However I can say that I have had an Apollo Mk3 running at 50Mhz - I had to change the CPU however - so please know that your mileage may vary on how fast you can push the Apollo Mk3.

Remember to adequately cool the CPLD chips on the card - I would suggest memory heat-sinks if you have them.

i wouldnt overclock it if its a 40mhz cpu.

pga or plcc?

Hi Zetro!

I just googling around within few days to catch some informations for an Apollo 1230 MK3, and found an older Posting from you, so:

Ive read you have/or had an Apollo 1230 Card with 50Mhz, is that right?

So, how you can bring this to the 50mhz?

I have some units at home:

An 68030RC50 Cpu, an FPU 68882 with 40Mhz what can clocked up to 50mhz what i read on some peeps, various Quarz Oscillators, 40, 48, 56 mhz..

is it possible ?

My Card actually run with 40mhz and an 40mhz 68030 withoit FPU, and my idea is to make it a lil faster :)

Edit: Its all PGA socked ...

thanks so much, regards from Austria!
