I got a Bang & Olusen MX 4000 TV very cheap as it had no remote.

I'm on my 3rd (OEM replacement remote) none of them work as advertised or even control the tv AV function or half of the controls.

so i have looked on the other bay and prices are a bit extreme for a TV remote.

does anyone here have an old BEO4 remote they wish to sell ?

I have what i think is the best 21" tv for retro gaming but its next to useless without the remote :(

Have you tried a One4All ?

They have some quite snazzy ones nowadays for about £20

do you even need it? are you using scart? then you can probably use the pin that tells the tv to switch to av and not have to use a remote at all..

according to Google universal would work on the normal controls (channel, sound) but menu and AV controls will not. BEO4 i believe uses higher frequency codes and RF to contol a variety of B&O equipment.

sucks as the tv is supposed to be the best there is for retro consoles.

B&O use frequencies most universals can't transmit, so control is very limited without an original; however,
AV change and volume control can work with a universal control - at least it did with my Harmony One.

Indeed the MX line is very, very good for 240p gaming, but nothing beats a Trinitron or a PVM/BVM ;)

do you recommend to ditch the B&O and get a Sony Trinitron ?

shame as the B&O is very slim, sound is excellent and full of bass and I like the no speakers on the sides

I was going to put this 21" eventually into a mame cabinet and use soft 15khz from a PC.

Not at all. The MX is excellent and sound the sound is better :)
