I have myself an IBM 5160 that i replaced the PSU with a nice Seasonic ATX PSU and is booting fine. Problem is i lack a keyboard. I never realised that the PC/XT has different protocols for keyboard so you cannot use an AT to PS/2 adapter. I know you can make adapters so you can plug in an AT keyboard and thus a PS/2 but i don't have an eprom reader or the parts.

Much like to have ISO layout. Also i can't afford one of the old IBM keyboards.

Cheers,
Kieran

I'm building a couple AT2XT kits (http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/showthread.php?26426-AT2XT-keyboard-converter) so I can use my XT systems with a KVM switch. There's a person here in the US selling the PCBs for $5 each and the parts are not very expensive either. I'd be happy to order the parts and program the chips for you at cost. I'm getting a parts order ready soon so I could easily add yours in to keep shipping costs down. :)

Good luck!

Heather

Hello, I saw your request only now, anyway I had a similar need for a 5160 too, so I solved the problem by building a converter based on arduino to use a common PS/2 keyboard on PC/XT machines.. here is a small guide I made at that time: http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcfo...o-XT-converter maybe can be helpful even if I think AT2XT proposed bySkydivinGirl is probably better since with the arduino adapter you may have to adjust some timings..
