I think back in the day eproms where sometimes used by the reseller, depending on if they had a licence off whoever had the rights at the time, guessing escom or CBM?

Those are inside the kit sold in Italy (by DBline or Cloanto, I do not remember) and therefore they should be considered as bought for original upgrading.

Honestly I don't know if there are differences between them, i.e. EEPROMs and ROMs.

Probably version 40.068 was distributed in EPROMs only and version 40.70 in ROMs too.

Probably v. 40.068 was a pre-release waiting for the final v.40.70

----edit---

Diskettes are marked by Escom while Manuals by Amiga Technologies and Commodore...

The 40.68 is the final release for the A4000D, the 40.70 is for the A4000T...

Based upon the shot of the bootstrap screen I read 40.068...there is an extra "0" in the version. I suppose that there are differences from 40.68....??

The 40.68 shows 40.068, there are three digits for the subversion, e.g. 37.350 for the latest 2.05 kickstart with bugfixed IDE Support in the A600...
