Joysticks on bbc micro/master

The normal joysticks for BBC micros (including the Master 128, but not the Master Compact) are analogue. Connected to the 15 pin Dsub on the back, 4 analogue inputs, 2 digital inputs.

For a digital joystick, you most likely need to use the 20 pin IDC connector on the bottom called the userport, and then need software that supports it. I other words, a custom solution.

All analogue my friend. Roy was looking at making a digital adapter I think Kempston made a digital joystick if you can hunt one down?

there was few digital to analogue joystick adaptors made for the beeb.
