This A600 was sent for Recapping to primarily restore the Audio, however during the recap it was found that some PCB tracks had been eaten away by leaky caps in the Audio Mixer circuit.

The Customer had requested an Internal Installation of a Gotek Floppy Emulator flashed with the Cortex firmware, as you can see from the photographs this was carried out very tidily. :)

... To allow booting of NON DOS Games disks I designed and installed a Drive ID changer suitable for the A600's Surface mount PCB, making sure it is fully reversible with no track cutting.
The ID changer changes whether the first external drive or the internal Gotek is designated as DF0, ie Drive 0 or the boot drive.
System works great with the Gotek Menu system, and also Boots Games happily off an External Drive too by changing the switch position near the Joystick port.

If you would like your A600 Modified in a similar manner please drop us a line. :)
