I have a Picasso IV that after about 5-10 minutes of use crashes my A4000. You get garbled screen and the mouse will only work vertically. Caps look OK. A4000 works fine with AGA and no RTG.

Would anyone be willing to take a look for me before I go down the road of trying to find a new one?

There are a few chips socketed, you might wanna try to check if they're making proper contact, after all, they've been there for a good few decades now.
Could be an easy fix.

Thanks mate, yes I already did that a few months ago, I took out all the socketed chips and reseated.

Ok, by the sound of it, it looks like a thermal thing, do you have some kind of a small compressor, so you can cool down some chips to check what the culprit is?
Odds are slim though, especially if it's one of them custom chips.:(

MastaTabs over at a1k.org or eab is the man to ask for this. He fixed my PIV recently and is a really nice guy.

Cheers

I have a new PIV card on the way now so this is no longer required, would an admin please close? thank you.
