Programming/Coding forum rules and guidelines

Within this area you are given the ability to quote code snippets, and to attach files to your posts. Please comply with the following rules and guidelines:

Section A: Section Rules

  1. All quoted code must be your own property, or reference to its origin clearly stated at the end of each quoted block of code.
  2. All attached files containing programming code must only contain code which is your own property, or can clearly be proved is freeware/open source (documentation stating this must be included with the files).
  3. All attached files (containing any filetype - program, code, utility, text.. etc) must be freeware, shareware, open source or have been given freeware non-commercial status by its current copyright holder (proof must be included with the files)
  4. All code/files that you have created and publish (post/attach) on Amibay.com are given freely by you to be used by all Amibay members for personal non-commercial use only.
  5. If any code posted on Amibay is later used by a member within their own projects, or off site, we ask that it is protected under the GNU GPL v3 open license (General Public License)(See section B below for full details).This means that in publishing code taken from Amibay, it will instantly become open source under the GNU GPL license, and as such it will mean the following for all members:
    • This act is granting all other Amibay members the right and permission to use this code in any way they wish in a non-commercial way.
    • All original code posted within Amibay remains the property of its original author (member) and as such, permission for any commercial use of said code must be sort from the original author (member) who posted (created) it.

Section B: The Amibay programming and coding GNU GPL License
All coding content posted by members within the Amibay.com Programming and Coding forum is free software; members may only redistribute code and/or modify it outside of Amibay under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or (at your option) any later version. This is to protect members code against use in commercial projects.

This code is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. See the GNU General Public License for more details.
