I have recently acquired 2 x A3000 that have been in storage for 20 odd years, one desktop, one tower. Apart from being very dusty, externally they are in excellent shape. The batteries need replacing, but no damage appears apparent from that. My main concern is twofold;

1/ The PSU. Is there a way to test the psu while it is NOT plugged in to the mainboard (I'm worried about voltages out of spec or a cap blowing in the PSU)

2/ I've read that the A600 and A1200 are prone to caps failing on the board. Is this the case with the A3000?

Any help appreciated.

Regards

David

ad 1. Off course , you need only multimeter , connect some hdd to overload psu
ad 2. No , there are high quality caps no needs to replace it
