Hi everyone,

I came across a stack of original IDE/ATAPI CD-ROM drives from an old storage location because I needed a couple of spare ones for retro PC's and could not find them online selling new anywhere and prefer the those with an original IDE interface over an IDE-SATA adapter.

Now, I have a rather large number of drives (100+ :D) and I don't intend to keep all of them (because of the space they claim and I really don't need that many on hand), so I'm looking for anyone who's interested in having some of them.

I've come to understand that they have never been used, most of them were boxed up (for over 15 years) and were at the time either brand-new or have been swapped out from brand-new computers for a different model and then got shelved. They're in good condition although some have developed a little bit of corrosion on the outside (which is understandable given the fact that these were stored in bulk in a carton box and only styrofoam) but nothing really bad.

The brands/models that I have are the following (I can post pictures if there's an interest):

SAMSUNG CD-Master 48E
LITE-ON LTN-483L
MITSUMI CRMC-FX4830T

I'd say the're all 48x drives and all of them have beige fronts with, for as far as I can tell, no discoloration of any kind.

So if you are interested let me know.

Unless you are giving these away you will need to add a price.

Until you make the situation clear nobody can declare interest.

I'd say a symbolic price of 2 EURO... that's almost giving them away. :)

And while I prefer for people to just come on over and take a couple with them, I can send them (in bulk) by mail of course..

I'd be interested in a couple only. What is the minimum number that you would ship to the UK?

I´m interested in several of these shipped to Norway. How many would depend mostly on the shipping cost.

I'd prefer it if distributing them won't take too long while at the same time giving everyone a fair chance at having a couple of them.. how about 3 or 4?

Can check with the post office what it would cost to ship them to the UK.

I’ll take 4, depending on shipping costs :) is it possible to see some pictures of some of the drives to know the extent of the corrosion?

Absolutely. I'll take some pictures from all of the drives then and post those ASAP.
Do you have a preference for the brand/model?

I'll check that with the post office.

So, these are the 3 drives of which I have the most 'stock' :)

In terms of corrosion, as per your request, the pictures below show the 'worst' state some of the drives are in. But I've got quite a stack so I'll be shipping out the ones that look the best first.
And I'm happy to send you a picture of the selected drive prior to shipping.

Interested in 3-4 depending on shipping cost to Belgium

While I could use a couple myself, I know some people around here who could probably also use one of these in their retro PC / big box Amiga, so I am declaring interest in 10 pcs pending shipping costs to Denmark. I could go up or down a bit in the amount, depending on how it fits with the shipping brackets.

Thanks for your interest everyone... to make it a bit easier I've looked up the shipping costs for the individual countries, so here they are.

Second listed price for each country/weight includes insurance up to 500 EURO. Both prices include a track & trace code for tracking your shipment.
