Hi all,

due to health issues i'm selling part of my collection of stuff i don't need anymore. There's stuff in great condition that deserves a new home and to be used most of all.

All stuff is working, but i will test before shipping. Prices are not set in stone, but won't change much, due to my needs right now.

Depending on weight, shipping cost can go from 9,60€ - 15,50€ in Europe or 16,50 - 24-50€ for the rest of the world. These prices are assuming a package will weigh more than 250g up to 2KG. This service is called in Portugal "Blue Mail" which is the fastest and has tracking. I can arrange for registered/signed, but it might be a little more expensive.

I do not accept returns due to the age of the stuff, but everything will be tested and well packed, and i will always be available for help. If you don't agree please do not express interest on the items.

Payment is to be made by PayPal as family/friends/gift.

I don't believe any 486 chipsets supported EDO memory (FPM only), iirc the Pentium 430FX (Triton, 1995) chipset was the first to support EDO.

Not only that, but there wouldn't be any performance benefit. EDO is stuff for Socket 7. IMO if you want to have a 486 make sure you have FPM sticks. If you want more speed and run with lower waitstates try to find 60ns FPM sticks. 70ns are by far the most common though.

TBH, if I were looking to do a DOS/Win box and happened to have 72-pin EDO RAM on hand, I would probably just go with something like a P133-233 anyways....plenty of horsepower for DOS, and enough (with an acceptable amount of RAM) for Win95sr2.x (which would also allow for easy addition of USB ports as well)...like that DFI board you are selling... (which also takes SDRAM as well...)

personally I am more fond of the XT (8088/86) to 486 era, where I really got my start, however... (presently I have an Am386sx25, and 2 486VLB systems)

Just like me... I have a Turbo XT, a now converted to European power Tandy 1000 SL, a 286, 386 and high end 486. I am going to build a Athlon XP Windows 98 SE for 3DFX Windows and late DOS stuff. And that's enough of retro PC's for me.

Talking about XT... Time to update the first post.

Added motherboard #15 - Turbo XT TD-20 board

Some 486 chipsets support EDO SIMMs, but there isn't any benefit - at least when I tested them. With Pentium board you see memory bandwidth increased but on 486 there was none.

I am wracking my brain trying to remember, but I am guessing there were some boards which supported Am486DX4 / 5x86 processors which may have 'used' EDO memory (VIA chipsets? or possibly SIS?)

here's one I had forgotten, Acer Labs... (aka ALi)

Guys, that's an ad thread. I just happened to have the EDO ram, the GPU and the CPU, and thought about building a nice old machine. I wasn't searching any "benefits of EDO ram on a 486".

Actually, I found a link that says that a specific board for sale supports EDO ram with a SIS chipset, but as the seller says no, my interest remains withdrawn. http://www.elhvb.com/webhq/models/486pci/ls486ed.htm

Price cut on Turbo XT motherboard (was 70€ now 65€)

Graphics cards section added!
