Note ! that tracking to Australia is not working from Poland

No, A1200 uses slim (1.0" height) drives. The FB-354 is a 1.6" height unit.

ESCOM 1200 isolates pin34 (RDY) on onboard header so it can be shorted to pin2 (CHNG) and allow the use of an unmodified PC floppy drive.
The fix is to remove (if present) the link wire between pin2 and pin34 and then bridge pin1 (RDY) on the external connector to pin34 on the internal header.

This restores the original specs so an Amiga drive can be normally used.
