Hi all,

Some of the memory on my BVision is faulty - and I'd like it replaced. I'm not sure which chip it is, but I'm happy to have all of them replaced.

The chips appear easy enough to obtain on eBay etc. but if the repairer knows of a better option, I'm cool with that.

Thanks!

Colin

For the RAM, I can either obtain these which are exactly the same part:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/x20pcs-NE...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

Or this faster version (that would have to be de-soldered from the boards they come on) - I was thinking maybe under clocking the parts (that is, running them at normal speed) would make them a little cooler:

Edit: I've ordered the former - looking at the tech specs, the -8 is actually 80ns whereas the -10 is 10ns

This demo never worked properly for me.
Looks like buggy demo.

Please try Encore Sulaco demo.
If Encore is working - your card is 100% ok.

That demo runs fine - I've found quite a few with the same issue, and also Wipeout 2097. That at least should run without these artefacts, no?

I'm pretty sure the libraries I have are correct - when running, if I select a texture cache of anything up to 1024KB, it runs prefect and completely glitch free. Anything greater than that and I get all kinds of artefacts, whether full screen or in a window. If I increase the screen resolution, I have to lower the texture cache to get rid of artefacts.

Would that still be a library thing?

Then your card is 100% fine.
Enjoy!
