I am in the process of repairing my breadbin C64. It now works as in perfect display, bios, keyboard and sound (SwinSid) but it has an issue with loading/accessing the SD2IEC.

Power to the SD2IEC is fine as confirmed with the lights and reset
The SD2IEC is good as I used it on other C64's and SX-64 with no issue.

The problem, it says either file not found or device not present errors.

I tried switching the CIA's, trying other CIA's and also trying 8520's from Amiga but did not fix it.

Any ideas ?

Great, I already bought x2 7406 (they were €1.07 each) from electronics shop 2 mins walk from work.

I hope it will solve the issue.

let us know how you get on,i have one or two other ideas if it dont clear it

There are also the ESD protection diodes on the left hand side next to the 7406 factory soldered to the ground. They can also break.

Tried the 7806 and also a J-PLA to be sure. Still not finding the disk drive
