I've a dell pcmcia card, made by IBM and definitely not very recent, is very dented but works fine. It doesn't say anything about 16-bit cards, but it came in 486 desktop which I pitched.

any numbers or markings on the card?

perhaps a part number or FCC ID ?

If it was used inside a 486, surely the device is 5V. It will not fry your Amiga.

On the CNET.device packet exists a program who detects PCMCIA cards, it will inform which card you have and then you can check for compatibility.
