Amiga 3000 Upgraded with 32 Zip Chips

So I thought I would post a resolution to my own thread for future generations. I was able to get my 3000 working 100% today with 16Mb of Fast Ram (Zips), 2Mb of chip RAM, and able to install OS 3.1.4 with my Kickstart 3.1.4 purchase from July. What was happening: - I couldn't get more than...

    twinkick on the A1000

I know this is old... but if it helps anyone--- I had the same problem. Once I used "GrabKick" to create the 1.3 kickstart file I was able to use the tool. I used a Ambian (raspberry pi) system to move the files back and forth via Flash Drive to the ADFs and booted the ADF created in it on a...

    Amiga Flash Adapter from AMIGAWORLD.DE

Makes sense, I'd bet Pin 16 is A18 on the "800" then. I'm going to have to figure out where to get a adapter, gglabs appears to be on vaccation for a couple weeks.

    Amiga Flash Adapter from AMIGAWORLD.DE

Your message got me thinking, so I just traced it out and reviewed the Gerber files. The pins are as follows on a AM29F400BB: 1 - 11 (WE#) 2 - 12 (RESET#) 3 - 16 (NC) 4 - Gnd There's no A18 though, and the No Connection pin has me a bit baffled.

    Amiga Flash Adapter from AMIGAWORLD.DE

I recently had several of these (https://www.amigaworld.de/hardware/flash-rom-adapter/) made and bought all the parts needed. I can't seem to get it to write and I was thinking maybe the jumpers need to be set somehow... Has anyone built these and figured out what the jumpers 1-4 are for? The...

Amiga 3000 Upgraded with 32 Zip Chips

Been a bit since I could report more progress. Thank you for the response. I actually did a bit of all that, though my tip was dirty and needing replaced so I stopped trying to reflow the joints, I did try IPA and using the chips to clean it while rocking them in and out with the IPA. This...

Amiga 3000 Upgraded with 32 Zip Chips

Thanks for the replies! I have deduced, by chip swapping, that 100% of the RAM I bought is OK. They are also all the same chip numbers, so same type. I can get 4Mb in both Bank 0 and Bank 1 working for a total of 8Mb. I have also swapped the other 8 into bank 1 in two different passes and...

Amiga 3000 Upgraded with 32 Zip Chips

OK, I've recently purchased a working 3000 and then bought 32 of the proper ZIP memory chips to place into the sockets on teh Motherboard. I moved the jumper for Bank 0 to tell it there are ZIps and not Dips in Bank 0. I've removed the DIPs in Bank 0 and I have double (and triple) checked the...

    modern accessories for the Amiga

Seller got back to me quickly. Unfortunately, the accelerator had already been sold (elsewhere?) Since the Memory board was just an additional interest because shipping wouldn't be much more, withdrawing interest in both.

US Amiga 600 keyboard or key caps

Thanks! I saw this as well, but I was hoping for a solution before (maybe) September. Also, figuring out if I had a Mitsumi switch seemed hard to tell with out opening it up special. (I have rectangular plastic switches under the key caps, but no idea if they all do or not.

US Amiga 600 keyboard or key caps

I purchased a French Amiga 600 a while back off here. Of course I didn't consider the keyboard would be so different. (Silly me, I knew it would be.) I've moved some keys around and it mostly works, but they are different heights and it's driving me nuts. So, I'm looking for the end goal of a...

Declaring interest in the Furia Accelerator and, if the two work together, the A604n. Will send PM shortly with this question and for shipping quote.

Help Needed Restoring a VIC20 to it's glory!

The good news and bad news.... The good news is I have a fully working VIC20 now. The bad news, is it's one I bought ($60 for a beautiful no yellowing machine with a datasette and 3 games... couldn't pass it up) and to bring closure to this saga. I was able to chip swap and found that the...
