    You can use an old style phone cable, it is not exactly the same but close enough that I am sure most people would never notice.

    Well I use a SUM USB on my A1200 mounted in a 1U rack unit, it is working well with my Logitech keyboard connected by a Unify dongle.

    Main tip for recapping is like anything, take your time. Use a hot air gun on the SMD caps, kapton tape is your friend.

    A1200s, A600s and CD32s are the machines on which a recap is a must. Most of the time the other systems are ok, a recap is still a good idea as after a couple of decades there is probably not a lot of life left but they should be able to enjoy the systems a bit longer before spending the money...
