Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

I've still problems with the CIAs. Everything else seems to work. If I disable the CIA access, board boots and is stable. In order to get the CIAs working, I need to emulate the 6800 bus protocol and keep the Akiko IC from the bus as there is a "register overlap" (Akiko does, what is needed on...

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

I received the new proto boards a few weeks ago, sourced parts and on 24.12. I got it to start with the Diagrom (what would I do without it? ❤️) and later even to the Kickstart animation. Today, I was able to reactivate the IDE and the Fastram ist now working properly. There is still lot's of...

Hm, I haven’t planned this.. The CD32 CD mechanism ist really odd and obscure. You can’t connect another drive to it…

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

Since I now had some vacation, I thought, this is the right time to get the next board revision ready. It is not completely finished yet, there are still some small things to do, so it will take some more time to complete. I'm done with the layout so far, but I have to check everything again...

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

You most likely will ;) Amiga37 gave me a huge motivation boost. So at the moment, I work on the board and the Akiko Portable nearly every evening. Still a lot to do (especially for the Portable), but there is progress :)

    A3000UX chip versions

If you plan to use it with Amix, then you can't use a 68040 as it is not supported by the operating system

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

So, there is some news :) Since a few days I have a stable firmware. My beloved Frontier Intro test ran around 16 hours without crashes or graphic errors. The performance is now good. Currently still to do: - power-on-reset does not work properly, i.e. you have to press reset once for the board...

Project is alive, I'm currently working on the network card ?

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

The board uses a real 68030 50MHz CPU. Btw, the CPU works down to 5MHz, but this is really painful

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

Just a small update to the bezel. As a prototype, I used an Arduino Mega sitting near the case: I called the controller chip KARL, because Karl kontrolliert auch RGB Leisten (sorry, German joke) :D I had some problems with the Atmel IC first, but after a real odyssey I finally found a...

There is no disk drive. So, no Gotek :)

It is indeed the Chieftec IX-01B-OP. Is the IX-03B-OP available in Greece? It looks pretty much the same except for the bezel.

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

While still having some issues, the new revision is near finish. I've not yet a working RGB pcb, so I want to get that done first. I'd kick myself if I find out that the new board is missing one or more traces to get that extension work. Also, the network expansion card is still work in...

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

Just a small update on the project. I needed some vacation from Verilog code. So I did some work on the case. The Chieftec case, that we are using, looks very decent, but it looks like a PC. That's a bit of shame for an Amiga based computer... So my target was: It should look more like an...

Akiko 32 - Amiga in miniITX format

That's the reason why the 68030 is located in the left corner :D The GBA card will fit in a miniITX case together with the board, although it's not yet working. It's... errr, on my list :-D Social media is not my thing, but maybe in this case it could be helpful.
