    A couple of diagrams I've seen have a 10uF 16V cap on the audio lines. I think I have some of these here so I'll be giving it a try.

    Regarding IFU-30 I personally think it's better to utilise the RGB amp board from the cable and mod the PC Engine internally, removing the RF modulator and replacing with a 9-pin mini DIN and wiring up to the Sega Mega Drive 2 pin-out. Then you can use the rest of the scart cable with a mini DIN...

    The RGB amp board doesn't touch the audio lines so a separate mod would need to be added to the cable. Not sure how though.
