Figured out the problem - boneheaded move on my part - I had an unattached IDE cable (that I sometimes connect to a CDROM) apparently causing IDE termination issues. Removed the cable, now everything is working perfectly! Thanks a bunch!

The accelerator arrived safely, thanks! Crashing though - probably need timing fixes on my motherboard; I had removed E123C and E125C already, probably shouldn't have. I've ordered replacement 22pf caps and other parts to try to work through timing fixes. My board is a 1A revision.
